Next season has zero to do with the fact that GB has won superbowls in the past.
Last season has some relevance to this season, because some of the same players will be on the field. Granted, in the NFL more than any sport, team fate can greatly change from one season to the next. However, if you are going to draw ANY conclusions about the future, it only makes sense to draw from the near past, not the distant past.

Thank you... that's all I'm trying to say.
Look... You want to sh!t on the Lions? Go ahead! Like I keep telling you, I'll agree with you on most of the sh!ttiness.
But I just don't see where you guys have room to talk right now. We did have more wins last year and I give you all the credit you deserve for your past SB trophies! I seriously do! You guys beat out Herman Moore, Brett Perriman, and Barry Sanders to win the NFC Central. You deserved it! I don't know what else to say about that.
But do realize that franchises turn themselves around and since you think the Lions are so terrible, how about a little respect when they turn it around? Nah, you're classless sore losers and you'll still badmouth them, and if they do turn into a respectable team, you'll say we're "overrated" and dismiss us on our flaws, yet praise Lord Favre for his 29 picks. That's about how most of you are.

And again, retard, the only reason last season is such a fair barometer for you is because YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANYONE WORTH MENTIONING FOR YOUR O-LINE AND NO CREDIBLE RECEIVERS!

First Lions preseason game tonight at 7:30, BTW.
I'll let you know honestly how much they suck; trust me I won't pull any punches.

well... BMW and Rogers are playing third string, with our most accurate QB of the moment, Orlovsky. I only say he's most accurate because they had some drills of throwing balls into trash cans at long distances in practice the other day and Danno got some unbelieveable percentage (mostly luck, probably). Anyway, those three will see the most playing time... so it's kinda unfair to have 2 top ten draft picks playing most of the game while denver will keep their scrubs onfield... so we'll see.
It wouldn't surprise me if they totally tanked.

Seriously... in all reality, they will probably tank (the Lions, that is).

Good point. He's been accurate lately. It's been said that he's staying in for an entire drive, at least.

And are you guys going to even take the plastic wrapping off of Favre on your first preseason game? And when is the Pack's first preseason game?

in this game... they will probably tank.
I'm confident, I just don't think they're ready yet. I think by time we play the packers in the regular season, we'll be starting to really click as a team.
But they'll be playing harder than Denver will, with all the linebackers and safeties trying like hell for a roster spot. So we'll see. It will be interesting.

...wow, you went from 'calm' to 'defensive' in less than 2 minutes(literally, look at the timestamp).

first game for GB is tomorrow, vs the chargers, at lambeau. Favre obviously wont play much. Id assume 1 drive , 2 at the most.

the preseason games arent about favre. they are about A-Rod,Jennings,Culver,Martin,Herron,Najeh,Green,Gado,Underwood,Carroll,Hawkins,Gardner,Ferguson,Colledge,Spitz,Coston,Leach..

doesn't have much to do with favre, much like the lions tonight doesnt have to do with kevin jones. we know hes good, and unless hes coming back from injury, theres no real reason to have him out there for too long.

Yeah, but the reason the Lions might actually win and should be interesting for anyone to watch is because BMW and Rogers are playing for their jobs. So it will be interesting to see for both Lions fans and football fans if they really are the picks that all scouts projected them to be. So if they step up in a pass-happy Martz offense, it will be interesting to watch. I think those two will be the x-factor in this preseason game. I know it doesn't mean anything, but it should still be fun to follow.

oh yeah, get ready to see why some people think martz is crazy. I am sure he will start his crazyness tonight.

I know... this is why these preseason games will actually be fun to watch. You know Martz and Henderson are both calling the plays from the sideline?
Yeah. Get ready to be entertained.

But from all accounts I've heard, these coaches might work out here. Marinelli has given him free reigns of the offense. And I haven't neard a single negative peep yet.

all that 'free reign' and 'good chemistry between coaches' stuff doesnt mean crap until games are played (even here in GB, but we dont have any crazy coaches, except maybe jags....i think he might be crazy..ill have to watch that develop).

Let martz do something 'genius-like' that doesnt work out, and see how marinelli likes it. Or if marinelli says "no" one too many times to martz.

Brother...you made me excited to watch a lions preseason game.

i like to watch division rivals games in preseason\regular season, but if they make it to postseason, those are too hard to watch.

I agree. I couldn't stand to watch the Packers win all those years. And I like the Bears to a degree, so I'll watch those too.
I hate the Bears because I don't live in Chicago, but if I did, I'd be loving them right about now.

I wouldnt. the bar is set too high for them, with an offense thats not good enough yet.

they have baltimore raven-itis. a GREAT defense, with an offense that kills them, or when asked to do something, can't.

The do get the short end of the stick if they don't repeat what they did last year. They do have all 22 starters returning, so they should own us all again if you follow the logic that they're a great team.

if i follow that logic, then if lovie wears that ugly leather jacket, the bears will lose that game.

Well, I'm just saying... If they're truly that awesome, they should be great again this year. And if they're not great this year, then they can expect partial validation of the "flukies" and "one-year wonder" roasters.
