Nick is one of my favorite players and is sorely underrated but a healthy Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu are still better than him. Collins is a playmaker for sure though.

Collins is top 5 for sure IMO......hard to argue against Troy Polamalu. When he is healthy he is one of the best defensive players in the league. Nick is phenominal though, no denying that, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a huge fan.

Oh I think he's a clear #3 although there is a bit of a gap between him and the top 2.

I agree with this.

Both Polamalu and Reed, even right now, are clearly better than Collins. I don't think you could find an NFL executive who would trade any of those guys for Collins.

But I don't see any other safety in the NFL right now better than Collins.

Maybe Earl Thomas or Eric Berry can be in the future, but Collins is young as well and will further develop.

Right now it goes like this.

#1 Polamalu
#2 Reed (though some will argue between the two)


#3 Collins
