it is painfully clear to me that this is the worst time during the year for a sports fan.

i just saw a hot dog eating contest on espn2. the program was AN HOUR long!?! how could you possibly fill up an hour time slot with footage from a hot dog eating contest? are they interviewing these guys? are they doing in-depth diagnostic particle tests on the make up of these hot dogs?? discussing the age old dispute in great lengths; the kosher advantage?

it doesn't stop there folks...this contest was from 2004!?!!?! this is the encore appearance of this famed contest. a repeat performance for god's sake! im speechless.

that is some QUALITY programming right there. I see why ESPN wants to hike it's rates to local cable companies. That way they can show more crap like that!

I try to find a lot of other things to do when football season is over. Although, I am constantly looking forward to the start of football. Training camp--to me--is the beginning. But since I know that football doesn't last all year, I get interested in a few other things not relating to sports such as: traveling, reading, and spending time with my granddaughters. Speaking of them, I am trying my hardest to make them into Packer fans, but it isn't working. The oldest one hates football, and the two younger ones have parents who are queen fans. Oh well, things could be worse
