My 300th post!

Having reached the milestone of 300 posts, I will salute the late great Papa Bear George Halas who won 324 games as the Bears head coach. He averaged 8 wins a season over 40 years when most of those seasons were only 11 games in a year. In 40 years as a coach, he endured only six losing seasons and won 7 world championships. The Super Bowl trophy should be called the

Lombardi

Come on Phil. Who the hell wants a Halas Trophy? Lombardi is the man and always will be. He went 105-35, never had a losing season, is the only coach to ever win 3 championships in a row, and then won the first 2 Superbowls. Thats why it is called the Lombardi Trophy. Back in 68 Richard Nixon considered naming Lombardi as his running mate for President until he was reminded that Lombardi was a democrat. I cant take anything away from Halas though he was a great coach, just not as great as Lombardi. And now knowing how you are I expect a whole lot of name calling and sh#t from you, but it dosent change the fact that the Packers are the greatest NFL franchise to ever put on a uniform, and we owe it to the man, Vince Lombardi.

Good post Phil. The history of the Packers/Bears is great. Didnt Halas actually buy the Packers too keep them going and then when the Pack got enough money Halas sold them back? I love the picture of Vince and Halas too.

Hey Phil,Halas has the NFC trophy named after him.That isn't to bad,is it? He was important to the nfl in the early years. :thumbsup: :kickcan:

yes indeedy...thats a rarity for you. you seem to be a big fan of the one short sentence posts...which is fine but nobody really gets to hear your thoughts on the subject ya know. dont be afraid to put together a paragraph every now and then.

Hey, I didn't know this was a contest to see who can rack up the most posts. I am still trying to hit 200, and it will probably take me forever before I make 500. I really don't care. I am just having fun posting and reading other people's posts. By the way, most of my posts are usually more than two sentences long. I only capitalize the first word of my sentences when i know for certain you're reading it. For fear that you'll quote me and then berate with corrections for all to see. :wink: Back to topic...if this is a contest, it's an awful one. It's the kind where the winner gets nothing at all. Enticing!
