My 1200th post!

For my 1200th post I would like to salute the Chicago Cubs and their fans.
Year after year the Cubs stink up the place and year after year their sheep like fans pack Wrigley Field like a bomb shelter in 1940 London.
The Cubs have sucked for so long and are so good at it that it has become a part of their image across the nation. They even call their band of stiffs “Lovable Losersâ€

cute story real quick. When I was at work, and the sox were in the playoffs, this guy came in with his sox hat. we got to talking, and I bet him 5 bucks he couldnt name 7 players, pitchers included, and sure enough...he couldnt.

Got to love fair weather fans. And sure, all these sox fans will tell you they've been fans for years! Years! But their white sox hat or jersey probably was made in 2004. Years...right.

Cubs might not have own anything in...forever

Do you know what team won more games than any other in MLB during the 1990s Trom? Not the Yankees, not the Braves, not the Red Sox, certainly not the Cubs. That's right Trom, the Chicago White Sox.
Here is the killer for you cubbie wubbie; the White Sox have a better team this season then when they won the World Series. How about the Cubs? They will be lucky if they can keep pace with the Brewers for 4th place this year. Oh by the way, higher ticket prices at Wrigley again this year. Enjoy.

Phil - you are 100% correct. I will always be a Cub's fan but these years in their organization is just turning my stomach. From ticket scalping to lying about bleacher price increases to "fans" at the game on their cellphones 90% of the time trying to decide whether to go to Yatzees or Hightops after the game. Fourtunately (or unfortunately), I remain a Cubs fan to the end for reasons I am not totally aware.
I congratulate your White Sox for winning the WS, even though I did not root for them. They were a powerhouse team last year and, you're right, look even better for 2006.

All this Chicago "LOVE" on a PACKER site.......I think MY stomach is starting to churn!!! I guess they figure they have to come to a place where they will be treated decent.........if they posted this on a Cubs or White Sox site, they probably would be hunted down!
But hey, we will treat you all with respect!

I think I did. My mom used to watch them all the time. they were the only team wed see on TV.

They just dont have a message board for Cubs fans.

I grew up hating the Cardinals but they run a class organization.
They want to win, they treat their fans great and they embrace their history without being pompous.
