Sorry Phil, 'skito, other Bear Fans...I know you really care if I can or can't cheer for the Bears now or ever but I just can't get myself to do that. The Packers took a serious faceplant this year but will be back very soon. Enjoy the season as the Bears have played some inspired football and are a fun team to watch. As far as cheering for them, sorry...no can do! It's kind of like oil and water, y'know?

Anyway, I won't be rooting for them to win OR lose for that matter. I'm just a football fan when the playoffs roll around wanting to see some good games now that the Packers have bowed out.

I completely understand, ND. I doubt I would be able to root for the Packers given the same situation. Just something very unnatural about it. I do give credit for those Packer fans who are rooting for the Bears; it shows that going beyond this rivalry is attainable, although I certainly have diffculties doing it myself.

well, I will be cheering for the bears this week as they are playing the sexkings. The latest line has both MN and Green Bay winning. I wonder if this is true. I would like to see Green Bay and Chicago win. Can't stand the sexkings and their attitudes--both players and fans. Wonder what Sharper thinks now that his team isn't going to the SB. I remember his comment that he was now playing with a winning team. Ha!!!

I can accept the Bears in the playoffs. At least no Queenies. Makes our lousy season better to take.

this makes our season easier to accept that the queenies are also out of the playoffs.

I really don't expect Packer fans to root for the Bears at all. There is no team in the playoffs this year that I have any bad feelings for. No T.O. or overrated Vick. I guess that rooting against the Cowboys is a tradition with me but it's not like the old days and they may not even make it.
If the Bears don't make it I just want to see the best match up. I have a feeling that the Patriots may end up beating the Colts again and on their own field this time. They are peaking at the right time and the Colts have a couple of reasons to go flat.

you know, i was thinking the same thing...but i really hope we're both wrong. these are definitely not the same Pats that stomped the the Colts last year.

You are right about that. I think that finally losing a game so close to the end of the season and then the whole Dungy's kid thing......on top of that they are going to go about a month without playing a game that means anything. All of that can add up to a big gag at home. Look at what the Chargers did to them. New England still has a mental advantage over them until they prove otherwise.

to be honest i think the situation with Dungy's kid might make the Colts hungrier than anybody in the league.

personally, i just want the Pats to go away for another decade or 2.

I think what the Patriots have done is pretty damn impressive but dynasties get boring (unless it's your team) and you want to see someone new. The Colts have not been in the Super Bowl since 1971.
For a while I did not want the Colts to win anything because of the way they stabbed the city of Baltimore in the back. Then I saw the people in Baltimore jumping for joy when the Browns fans had the same thing happen to them so my sympathy level dropped way down for them.
Maybe I am corny but I believe that fans who stay loyal year after year, through the good years and the bad should expect the same loyalty in return from their team.

I've watched their last few games - I think these Pats are dangerous again and at the right time of the year too. Much like Indy - they just seem to operate as a well-oiled machine. They aren't perfect but they are getting the job done. They recognize their weaknesses and have the personnel to adjust.

As a Steeler fan, I will say that I feel they are in a much better position to handle the Pats this year over last should they meet in the playoffs.

i dunno. if it is bears vs pats in the superbowl. I will take the pats. They are both the same team almost, except one has experience and superbowl rings. Nothing personal with it.

New England's defense has been a killer for the last three games. With all of the injuries that they have had this season you have to admire the fact that they are right in the mix going into the playoffs. It's not like they are limping in and will be one and done.
On top of that they lost both their offensive and defensive coaches after the Super Bowl yet here they are again.

Yup......it's something how they seem to be able to hang around year after year, even with the players/coaches leaving and all, where all other teams seem to win one and fade. They must be doing SOMETHING right.
If you look at it, all 3 Super Bowls they won were by 3 points. They could just as easily been the Bills or the Vikings, losers. Instead, they have as many Lombardi trophies as the Packers do. And they did it in 4 years.
The Eagles have been close, but unable to deliver. Now it looks like their run for a SB is over.

just remember 3 of their last 4 wins came against the Bills and the Jets twice. they did stomp Tampa Bay which was pretty impressive. i just feel pretty confident they'll be watching the superbowl from home...or maybe thats just what i want to happen

The only reason i would like the Patriots to win another Super Bowl is, because it would just make one of my best football cards even more valuable! Other then that, i don't really care that much who wins it once the Packers are out........which they took the suspense out of early this year!
