I will admit Mineral is growing on me (kind of like a fungus :-? )
And sice I found out Pickle Dick was a proud geekwad I find it hard to not be humoured by him. It's hard now though to take his attempts at trash talk serious cause all I can do is picture him as Dwight from "The office" So let's not run Mineral and Dwight off of here as they are creating entertainment.

Well, at least somebody "gets" it.
Win or lose, talking smack is fun(ny). I don't hate Packers fans. I do admire your enthusiasm considering last year's outcome.
Bears, Vikings, Lions, and Packers fans are all kind of in this thing together. The Bears sucked for years, Vikings are trophyless, Packers SEEM to be on a slow steady decline (not to say you won't pick it up later this season... hell maybe your next game against my Lions will spark a turnaround), and the Lions who have sucked for 50 years and are also trophyless. Bottom line is that we've all sucked for long periods of time and any true fans of these teams do have my respect.
You just gotta understand that condescension and general dickheadery is a Midwestern quality, though not exclusive to our region. Nothing personal, but football is football and some trash-talking comes with the territory. We've all seen each other in games where we've all dominated each other at one point. Even the Lions had their days in the 90s where we were either 1st or second in the division for a while and you've all seen Barry Sanders tear into you at one time or another. Just like I've seen Favre tear into every team once or twice or more; or Randy Moss and Cris Carter being unguardable, though not modest. Or Herman Moore and Brett Perriman, dual 100 reception receivers in the same season, with Morton in the slot with MITCHELL, of all people, tossing them the ball and the greatest pure runner of all time in the backfield (terrible defense). Or more recently, Urlacher and Briggs being impenetrable. We've all had our ups and downs and I respect the long-time Packers fans maybe more than any other fans as far as being in the dumps for so long at times and selling out every game for almost fifty years. You guys don't even understand blackouts from not selling out every game... and that's good thing. Of course the Pontiac Silverdome did have a higher seating capacity than any other stadium for a long time, at 80,00+, so it's understandable. But when the franchise's dark period was in full force in the Silverdome, still managing to get 80,000+ fans in a city whose population is now below one million is tough to do. So I toss Lions fans a fairly large bone in that regard, just as I do the Packers.
And, Vikings fans, to be completely honest, I don't know much about your fan history... but following a team that has never won the big one yet (like my Lions), is always respectable. Like many of you, I suspect, I grew up with a heritage of Lions football passed down to me from my father. We watched games together through my childhood and he passed on. So I feel obligated to carry on the tradition. Hopefully, by three more generations, someone in my family will be able to enjoy the Lions hoisting the big one.
Bears fans... well, you've got the 1985 season to hang your hats on, but admittedly, haven't had much since. So sticking through ten years of mediocre football (like the 50 years of Lions football), is still worth an honorable mention.
Ok... posted too much here, but... with all that being said...
Let's all hope for an injury-free week of football for all teams and understand; it's just jokes.

I'm absolutely positive that's what he's referring to. There has hardly been a shortage of posting in the other forums. I don't even read them because I don't check that section too often because it moves so fast. Seriously.

Mineral you're starting to sound civilized, insightfull, and respectful. Now stop it before we ban you. I do always like a informed fan no matter which team. The worst for me is the fans who rip your team but follow none of their own or claim to be a fan but no nothing about their team

Yeah, I sound that way for a few minutes but then go right back to the usual smack. I'm a loud-mouthed a$$hole fan like most of you guys here, but I know when a team sucks. Both teams aren't doing well, so who knows what could happen this weekend? Favre could toss for 4 TDs and 400 yards. Or Kitna, Williams and Furrey might click today and we'll see some running set that up. You never know.
    Might be another defensive stand.

But my wife and kid appreciate my nerdiness; puts food on the table.
If you had a wife that bitched like mine, you'd find a nerdy hobby too just to get away from it. Football, water treatment and the internet are my only escapes.

What do you call a nerd in the workplace?
