Same exact thing as last year on the Gonzalez "catch" in the Falcons regular season game. I cannot believe McCarthy refused to challenge that. His own players were telling him that it was a touchback. See Clay's reaction. Unbelievable.

If you play on DVR and slow mo it. He lost possession of the ball before his right foot was out of bounds. His status was inbounds, lost possession. The ball went into the end zone and out of bounds...Touchback. Pereira agreed so much...and he usually is very anti-overturn calls, unless you can conclusively say.

This one is on Mike.

That was pretty dumb.

MM needs to challenge a bit more when the players are telling MM it was a touchback.

I think his "Challenge-Support-Team" gave him the go to challenge a lil late, that's why he was flipping out when he put the flag back in his back pocket

Then that is on him to make a decision, if they aren't getting it to him on time....then he needs to make a decision. The exact same thing against the Falcons, apparently Mike didn't learn his lesson.

The announcers already said that the information got to him late. He also knew that timeout was very important considering they were about to score we needed all 3 timeouts.

Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

Okay, first, coaches can't see everything that happens on the field.

Second, players are always calling for coaches to throw the challenge flag on all manner of plays. Coaches who throw it on a whim (Tom Coughlin) have a very poor winning percentage on challenges.

Third, that's why they have guys upstairs whose job it is to watch the replays.

Fourth, they got him the info too late.

We lost one game, and here goes the blame game. We're 13-1, but let's throw the coach under the bus anyway.

Throwing him under the bus? Stating a fact. And this doesn't extend to the season, just this game.

The head coach must be decisive period. Head coaches are suppose to take control. McCarthy refused. He was pulling out his flag, then kept it in. Didn't take any risks. We didn't even go deep but two or three times today. Him not listening to Matthews, the heart and soul of the defense, was odd.

He'd have thrown it blind and gotten lucky. He didn't have enough info to make the challenge, and he could've lost a timeout and the ability to further challenge in the game. Remember Coughlin?
