The Lion's will be lucky to win 3 games this year. Dammit I'm sick and tired of rooting for this garbage year after year.

    Mr.Pickles agrees with this statement.

    Lion's= ickey bad, ickey bad.

Packers= Three flush floater, with Mr.Pickles hand on the flush lever, as if by magic!

    "flush"

They could have beat the Bears if they brought the 40 points they left on the field against the Seahawks.

Last season, week 2, Bears win 38-6
This season, week 2, Bears win 34-7
    That's how they compare. :D

apparently you missed the post after that where I admitted the lion's would only win 3 games this year. The vikings will try to keep up with the bears this season for the nfc north. The lions and packers will be playing for draft position. I don't know how much more of this I can take.

I forgot that Phil is a Bears fan.
Oh well. What do you want me to say? That the Bears are a better team than the Lions? OK fine.
The Bears are a better team than the Lions. I don't think anyone questions the Bears anymore. They are great. Actually, I hope they win the Superbowl - and they will if Grossman continues to pass like he did on the Packers and Lions.

their real test will come when they play a good team on offence and defence.

if they beat good teams too then they have a good chance to win a sb.

If you watched the opening game with the Steelers this year when they looked like a confident Superbowl winning team, the Bears played the exact same way. I saw the same hard hitting and intensity in the Bears these two weeks. They seem to have the attitude that this is going to be their year and it looks like it so far.
Bears/Steelers would be a nice Superbowl, eh?

Well, just because the Bears are good that doesn't mean I like them. I'll take my Lions.

    One more thing:
In the unlikely event that your Packers win this Sunday, you don't need to call me out in the middle of the game. I'll be around to eat my crow by monday, you can bet on that.
    But that's a BIG "if."

I don't think you can blame any one person on the Lions' suckiness. The "Big 3" weren't big enough, apparently. There's only 2 of them left and one of them doesn't even dress on game days.
They needed a complete overhaul and it takes time. The leaders on both sides of the ball have changed. It takes time to learn new systems and become disciplined enough to be a good team. Patience is a virtue that Packers fans don't have - Bears either, for that matter. Packer fans have been so used to winning that the fanbase is going to split after a couple of losses. Really classy. A team gives you 8 excellent years of football, and this is how you repay them?

Mineral.......there are "fair weather fans" for ALL teams, not just the Packers and Bears. You don't think the Cowboys and 49er's lost alot of so called "fans" when they turned sucky? The thing is, Lambeau Field has been SOLD OUT since the early 1960's. They stayed sold out through the sucky 1970's and 80's. So I don't think you can really say that the Packer fan base is going to split like some team's fans do. Will some jump off the bandwagon? Of course they will! But those were never REAL Packer fans in the first place! I have been around through the sucky years, and am still here, and will be the rest of my life. As i'm sure alot of the REAL fans on this site will also be!

Joey Harrington was a big part of the problem. He almost single handedly lost the first Bears game last year. Kitna stayed pretty mistake free, but couldn't get the ball in the end zone. Our defense lost that game for us,.

That's BS. Our defense didn't lose the game. Our TEAM lost the game!
Penalties killed us on offense, defense, and special teams. The Lions just aren't a well-disciplined team yet. That's why we lost.
That and the Chicago Bears are one of the premier teams in the NFL. You can't have that many penalties and expect to win against any team, much less a stellar defense like the Bears'.
Harrington did suck swampballs, but he's to share the blame with the other 52 players and coaching staff.

Mineral.....HOW can you expect us to talk "smack", when your already smacking your own team?
But i agree with CDN........your respected here for speaking the truth!
Believe me, i KNOW how much that hurts when you have to talk about your team that way. I feel the same when i have to talk about how the Pack has been doing.

    Cheesey, thanks... and thanks cdn.
I might've drank the kool-aid in the past, but this year I'm just not going to swallow it. Just give it a good gargle and spit it back out if it tastes like cyanide. Go into watching every game optimistically and just have the cajones to dissect it realistically. Two excuses I can't stand are penalties and injuries. You lose because of penalties and they're TRUE penalties, not calls that should have been overturned, then you lack discipline. A few key players go down and it's because you lack depth. That's why most teams like to draft players at positions where there's a seasoned veteran already that might be retiring soon or getting injury prone. That guy goes down and you have a rookie who could light things up and prompt a trade for the for the vet to fill a need on the team. Not worth much, but worth a potential pick for a need or a plug-in guy.
But you just gotta take it like a man; admit when your team sucks. None of that, "We left 40 points on the field" stuff. They did leave a TD on the field against the Bears for the int return for a TD that got called back, but 34 is still > 14. So, we lost. I'm not going to quit watching and attending games. 2 games in and we play the two of the best (arguable) teams in the NFL and lose in our first year with new schemes on both sides of the ball and lose. Why is that surprising? I never expected to win both or even one of those. But now we're playing another 0-2 team, so it could be a game where one of us exploits the other. Hopefully the Lions' secondary isn't torched.

 See that's my problem is the Kool-aid I drank was spiked so I can avoid the truth. The only problem I'm starting to sober up to reality and the way I see it, pass me some more of that crazy Kool-aid I hate reality :D
