    D. Orlando Ledbetter and Steve Wyche, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Detroit Lions OT Jeff Backus now holds the distinction of being the highest-paid offensive lineman to never made the Pro Bowl. Backus signed a six-year, $40 million contract Friday, July 14. The deal includes a $16 million signing bonus with $21 million due over the first three years, according to Backus' agent Pat Dye Jr.

They had to keep him, he was holding out for a multi year contract. I'm not all that disappointed.

It's time to produce big time now Backus!!! If you're getting paid like a Pro Bowler, it's time to be a Pro Bowler!

Actually, I think the Lions almost had to make that move and to be honest, he's a pretty damn good player IMO.
