Like him or not, it's impossible to deny that we wouldn't be in the playoffs right now if it weren't for his timely arrival. That tie against Minnesota, the game in which he rallied us, actually ended up saving our season. TT should sign him, it's unlikely that he'll be given another big contract.

Thank you Matt Flynn.

First send a thank you card to the Detroit Lions for blowing games against such titans as Steelers, Ravens, Bucs and Giants!

And let's thank Seattle, Oakland and Buffalo for giving him up and Ted for resigning him to the Packers.
Their loss was our gain!
Thank you Matt!

Like I always said, he's a gamer.

If you get down by 20 points in the second half and the game plan is in the trash can, he's your man. Some guys can only find their groove when their back's against the wall.

2-2-1 from a walk-on backup? You gotta take that every time.

Hate to nitpick, especially since I'm the one who started the thread on the importance of the tie, but it actually ended up being irrelevant. 8-8 would have still won the division over Chicago via division record. 9-7 would also still have us as the 4 seed, so it turns out the tie was inconsequential.

Still, very good point on Flynn. He did about as well as we could have possibly expected him to do. Certainly the epic comeback against Dallas will forever be one of his most memorable games and we couldn't have won the division without it.

Well, but that would have kept the Lions in the race for the division championship before the last week. They probably would have messed it up vs. thr Vikings, just saying though.

True, we can only speculate as to whether the Lions might have pulled it out on Sunday if they would have been playing for the division. They're still the Lions, though, so they probably would have found a way to mess it up anyway like they have the last 3 weeks.

Losing that fumble late in the fourth quarter to set up the Steelers for the winning td wasn't to his good but Flynn did come through about as well as a replacement, back-up in today's NFL could do. Hopefully both he and the Packers learned that they are better together than apart, with Flynn pursuing a starting gig elsewhere. He should stick around at least for 2014. He'll have the chance to be on another Super Bowl team and will provide better insurance than the Pack had going into 2013. It'll be his chance to redeem himself if he is ever to be a starter in the NFL.

The comeback to get the tie probably lifted the team's morale. Who knows if they may have decided to give up on the season if they hadn't come back against the Vikings.
