They know it's not unlimited..........but as long as you still have change in your pocket, they will try to take it.
I know it's not "politically correct", but i think if you LIVE here, you should learn to speak english. If i moved to another country, i would EXPECT to have to learn THEIR language.
Right now we have problems in Wisconsin with the Hmong people getting hunting licenses, and not being able to speak english. So what does the DNR do? They start printing hunting and fishing regulations in Hmong and Spanish. Guess who's license fees go up to cover the costs to do this? Yup......us "white" guys. And where do they STOP now??? Will we have to print them in French, Italian, Russian, and so on? How do they stop? All it will take is a couple foreign people to complain that it's not in THEIR language, and we have to do it. Plus, the main problem is them not being able to communicate with other hunters in the woods. THIS is where the REAL problem is. But the "PC" crowd wins out every time. Me, i don't care what your skin color is, if you want to hunt, i welcome them out in the woods GLADLY! But dang it, learn the language and be considerate of others around you! (The only time i ran into Hmong hunters in the woods was on public hunting grounds. They were thoughtless and rude, constantly walking around the area, and talking in Hmong loudly, even though they KNEW i and other hunters were there. I kept moving to different spots to get away from them, and they would trapse through where ever i moved too. Thats unexceptable behaviour by ANY hunter) I ended up leaving, and met several other hunters at the parking lot who also were fed up with their thoughtlessness.

Hey, not just you white folk. I speak only English too. ;)

But yeah, this is another issue we're in complete agreement with. I've had similar experiences. The good thing about hunting in California is it's so big, you can go hunting without seeing anyone else for the whole day. I like it that way. (Plus, there's such a small percentage of us Californians who actually hunt, but I won't go into details why. ;) )

    Sorry Zombie!!!
I didn't mean to cut you out of the equation!
I have been hunting for 34 years, and i have never met an African American hunter in the woods, or a Mexican hunter either. Now i KNOW some do hunt, i just never ran into any.

That's because you're in Wisconsin. Very few minorities out there.

Out here, you go to the Hunters Certification classes and it's pretty mixed.

but no offense taken at all. I knew what you meant. I was just giving you a hard time. ;)

    Few minorities???
We have LOTS of minorities here! I don't know why more here don't hunt. I was raised in a hunting family. Maybe that has something to do with it. Maybe they just never had the opportunity, or came in contact with any hunters in their families. I have been around guns litterally all my life. My Dad taught me from the time i was old enough to understand it what damage a REAL gun could do. The bullets and guns were right where i could have messed with them, but i NEVER touched them. I knew they were not toys.

Oh, heh. Well, I have an excuse to make that assumption. Haven't been back since '78. A lot must have changed. ;)

Minorities... I'm a caucasian male in the San Francisco Bay Area... I am a minority. There are more signs in my home town written in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Farsi, Spanish, and Yiddish than I've seen anywhere else in the nation...

People not speaking English is just a fact of life here. And it sucks. As soon as I can't understand the person who's supposed to be working in my mouth with a sharp metal object, I'm looking for a new place to go to have my teeth chiseled.

I don't blame you one bit!
We have lost control of the country. It was little by little. But if you go from 40 years ago to now, it would be VERY noticable.

    rabble, rabble, rabble!

you peckerwoods sure are uptight.. ;)

but yeah, it's so diverse out here that most people don't think twice about that kind of stuff. seeing guides, pamphlets, directions, menus, etc. printed in multiple languages is pretty commonplace. doesn't really bother me.

If it's a BUSINESS it doesn't bother me one bit either. If thats how they want to take care of their customers, so be it. It comes out of THEIR pocket. But when my license fees and taxes go to pay for this, THAT is when i get upset.
Do you see what i mean?

They have been going up the last couple years now, and are supposed to go up again.
A couple years ago a deer hunting license was $20. Then $24. Now i think it will be $28.
Our Governor wanted to jump it up right to $35, but it didn't pass.
I know, it doesn't seem like alot of money to some, but when money is already tight, it's a big jump from 20 to 35. And of course, then you have to ask, is this going to be an every year thing? (Which of course it is)
They already said it was going up due to the extra costs of printing the regulations. And just like government will do, once they start uping it, and get away with it, they see us as a "cash cow" and won't stop.
Oh.....and we have over 600 thousand gun deer hunters, and about 300 thousand bow hunters. Just do the math and see just how much more money these guys are pulling in, for really no more service then before.
Thats not counting the increase in fishing license and small game hunting fees. They are shooting up too.

a 40% increase in 2 years, and they blame it on extra printing fee's?

    sounds like greed to me.

I know.......thats the answer they gave. Oh, they said also because of the price of land is going up. But i noticed how the over spend when they DO purchase something. Typical government.......it's not THEIR money, so what do THEY care how much they spend?
It's just another excuse to raid our wallets.

Guys, guys, guys, and arrow (hehe) I think I have a solution.

We should let go of this english, yiddish, spanish, french language stuff.

Let's switch to expressing and communicating thoughts/ideas/anything through pictures. Of Women. Naked.

I mean everyone would be up for the idea of making a universal language consisting of pictures of naked girls. :D
