Whats a shame is you fail to understand people when they are okay with the way Ted is handling things..

people mentioned it all ready and you fail to understand..

Talking about 7th round picks it was turning into a decent convo and you "jab" in with Ted will get 32 of those..

You know FULL well it was a jab and you know full well people are going jab back at ya..

With your logic if you dont want to see it dont read it..

Well if you dont want people "attacking you" then dont place silly little jabs like that out there..

As much as it is your right to say those things about him it is our right to come back at you..

Now you are starting to get it!

You are right I can take jabs at TT and you can respond, but what you can't do is WHINE about how every topic turns into a love/hate thing when you are just as guilty as me.

Answer me this sole question.....If you think TT is doing so great why do you feel the need to attack me when I say something negative about him?

You just dont get it? People have explained it a few times already

It is because the "anti Ted" group feels the need to turn posts into bashing him..

But I think war said it best, and for me, this is EXACTLY could very well be the underlining issue..Cuz when Ted's names is not brought into subjects those threads are very informative and actually get stuff accomplished

It's not about the threads where the TOPIC relates to TT and how you feel about him.

It's about all the threads that don't have a thing to do with HIM or the JOB he has done but you INSIST on throwing a jab in there anyways.

If a thread is about Ted, I and I am sure others know jabs will be made, and we will jab back..

But like this........ talking about the TE that was signed..not even 9 posts and its already a bash Ted thread...
    source

Or this, so what if Ted was at Johnsons work out, no need to get all crazy like flpack did..
    source

I know you may not have started the bashing, but these are examples that all the "anti Ted" group has done..Just so happens those stuck out in my mind and were easier to locate...

This thread seems to have reduced the problems in other threads, so it seems to be working (er not exactly sure how, but less problems in the other threads!)

I'll move this to the smack section.

Why do you feel the need to defend Thompson at all costs when someone says something negative about him?

For the same reasons Sherman is defended by you guys. Actually Pyle, I don't care that you bash TT, but I expect you to man up when he builds a playoff quality football team.

Why do you feel the need to bash him?

Cuz you feel he is crap...

We feel he is doing a good job..

2 sides on the extreme opposite ends, what do you expect to happen?

Defend or Bash. Fan's have the right to do either or. Some people go over board defending as some go overboard bashing him.

I can't call myself a huge fan of Ted, but I see he has a plan. I don't much care for how slow it seems to be taking, but I've seen progress in the team and when it comes down to it. I don't feel I as a fan can ask much more than that. Would I like some huge name signings? Hell yes! I love that ****. But in the same breath, I don't want to be in cap hell and losing core guys cuz of it. (losing ppl like Kampman, Barnett, Harris etc) if we would have splurged on FA last year we would have put ourselves in a not so good position.

Something that people (including myself) forget at times is that free agents are free agents for a reason. If their team really felt they would help them they'd have found a way to keep'em. Then there is also chemistry with the new teams scheme with that player. Did that player excel in a 3 - 4 but would get smashed in 4 -3? Or was it the WCO?

    Ted is right about FA.

Just because a player was good for 'said team' doesn't mean that player will be good for your team.

The more I see it develop the more I like the draft first method we are using. But yes its trying my patience lol

FA's are not FA's because they stink for the most part. Alot of times a team just has 2 really good guys at a position. Take LT and Turner for example. SD can't afford to pay 2 RB's top dollar so one has to go. It doesn't mean Turner is bad.

Another reason is that a team thinks a said player demands to much money. If another team is willing to pay them they don't feel the need the need to match them. It doesn't make them correct however.

The point that is overused in my opinion is this notion of overpaying. These guys get contracts based on what some team is willing to give them. Perhaps they got to much money based on thier past production but perhaps thier role on the previous team was limited by being behind other guys or the system in general.

Its not like one team is willing to pay 20 million while all the others are offering 100,000. There is a bidding war and the guy who pays the most wins. These guys are obviously thought as upgrades to the team who pays them. Putting a price on upgrading your team is impossible. One mans trash is anothers treasure. Some GM's think it's a priority at any cost to field the best team possible, while others do not.

It's like going to an auction for an expensive car with 20 bucks in your pocket and bidding against billionaires that are willing to pay what it takes to win. You may not spend the money they do but you also won't be driving around in that luxury car and will continue on in your Ford Taurus that breakdowns and leaves you stranded every few weeks.

Hey, Pyle nice to have you back here. I'm still a fence rider on TT(hope no no one reads something dirty out of that) but I can see some of oyur points. When it comes to FA I think you got to look at where your team is at too. With Brett back it can make a lot of sence for the Pack to cough up some money for a 33 year old #1 WR where as for a team like the Vikings to hold on to one would be pointless as they're obviously going young and don't plan on making a push for a year or 2. Sorry Vikes but that's not smack just the truth.

To make this clear since you like to twist words around. I never said Free Agents stink. Nor did I imply such a false statement.

Every GM knows the priority is to field the best team possible and thats why they each respectably try to do. It's not their fault some fans are pathetically ignorant an assume differently. Each GM makes moves, resists making moves in hopes of making a better team. Some of those decisions or lack of could result into a lesser team, yes. That's all on the quality of a GM you have.

Twist words around? Maybe my eyes are going bad but I think it says "free agents are free agents for a reason" above.

So what part of that didn't you understand?
I didn't say they stink. It's my belief that a FA is a FA for a reason. There's a lot involved and I assumed you had the common sense to pick up on that.

A reason. REASON. Not that they STINK. A REASON. The reason can be many things. Player wants out, player doesnt mesh with new staff or scheme, player is not good enough, team wants to go younger, teams wants to let player test market and gets out priced, etc.

Apparently its not safe to assume those (some, most of you are high IQ or at least give that perception lol :p) who read the posts here have an IQ higher than their toe count.

Dude, you used it in defense of Ted. FA are FA for a reason is what you said. You followed it up with "If their team really felt they would help them they'd have found a way to keep'em."

Then you approved of Ted's method.

You are cute when you are mad.

I didn't say you approved of Ted in general but you did say you approved of Ted's approach of draft-first. You based your approval on the fact that FA are FA for a reason.

Like Fox News - I report, you decide

Tis a SAD day in "TT hater land"........TT went and screwed up BIG time, by signing Nick Barnett to a 6 year deal.
Man.......this is gonna throw a wrench into their plans.
But i'm sure that tomorrow will bring back the ol' hate to the forefront!
At least TT bought himself a one day reprieve with the Barnett signing. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Shut me up? I rendered you incapable of arguing along time ago.

And yeah TT signed Barnett. How does this improve on the 8-8 campaign of last year? TT will keep this team at AVERAGE and his undying supporters will pat his back for it.

It must be nice to have no expectations placed on you because you are incapable. Zero, you may know a little about this, considering it's been the story of your life, so perhaps you could chime in.
