Finally, we have found a weakness in his game! An annoying speech pattern. Now, how do we exploit that on the field...

He's not getting paid to speak, you know, and i think, you know, that he's maybe, you know, trying not to, you know, sound dumb, you know, by speaking faster, you know, then actually, you know, giving the proper, you know, time to digest, you know, the question, you know, before giving his, you know, answer.........you know.

Now.....all comedy aside.......if you listen to people on TV that arn't USED to speaking with cameras on them, they get nervous and say "you know" alot. I'm sure thats all that was with AP.
He was nervous, and reverted to that.
I have been on TV a few times, being interviewed, and i was nervous as heck. So I made SURE not to do that, as i have seen it done so much.

This problem is something I blame squarely on the shoulders of the self-esteem movement.

When I was growing up, a kid had to read, and when he read, whenever he say "um," the teacher shook her keys. Got kids to stop saying "um" really fast.

Same can be done with "you know." But because parents are concerned more about their children's self-esteem than actual learning, you can't do that any more.

Re: How many times can Adrian Peterson say "you know" in 27

Don't get me started!!!! There are some schools that don't give D's or Fs anymore because it makes the kids feel stupid. Also, some schools don't use red ink for grading papers, because red ink is supposedly "too stressful" And lets not forget about the many schools that do not allow kids to play "tag" because it makes the fat kids feel bad.

This is kind of like the "Trash the Pack" forum on the PPO.. kind of anything goes short of politics, religion and personal attacks.

Anything thing in the form of a smack against a rival is open season.. some less effective than others.

We can't seem to find anything to date to trash AP on the field.. so we take what we can get.

Puleeeze! These new rules are so lame! No D's and F's will teach kids, it's okay to slack off on their school work and they'll still get what everyone else gets. Then the kids that are disciplined or smart will see their is no reward for excelling and they'll fall back.

I hate to see the NFL in say.... 2020. They'll be a buncha sucky athletes!

Re: How many times can Adrian Peterson say "you know" in 27

    Don't get ME started!!!
It's just more of the "dumbing down" of America. They give these kids an artificial over inflated feeling of self worth. Why do you think they don't give a second thought to killing other kids??? They are taught that "THEY" are special. That "THEY" matter the most. So they think that if anyone "disses" them, they have the RIGHT to beat or kill whoever did it. Instead of rewarding them for caring about others, and excelling at school, or sports, they reward them for not giving their best.
"Participation trophies" are another thing that ticks me off. Give a trophy to a kid just for showing up. So what incentive is there to try your best, when you get the SAME thing whether you try or not?
Yeah.....don't fail a kid cause it might hurt his or her feeling of self worth. What is this preparing kids for when they have to go out in the REAL world and WORK for a living? I have seen people talk back to their bosses, having NO respect for authority. I have talked to a Wisconsin State Patrol officer, who told me the young kids driving are the WORSE. They cuss at the cops, and have NO respect. Why do you think this is??? And i have seen where a kid gets in trouble for something he/she does at school, and instead of the parents backing the school, they call for an attourny and try to sue the school. What message does this send to kids??? And they wonder WHY this generation is going down the tubes.
If frustrates the heck outta me. :soapbox:
    Sorry.....this crap really bugs me.

Purple Jesus is one of the nicest young men to come through the organization in awhile. A real gentleman who, perhaps, coming from a small-town in TX isn't all that comfy in interviews.

So - if he's going to be attacked for it, I'm going to bring up stuff for which Packers should be attacked.

Mr. PoopyHamper is just the first.

I don't believe I ever made fun of Favre for crying at his press conference. None of us have any idea the kind of emotion involved in giving up something like a football career.

And I'm not afraid or ashamed to say that I've cried over many things in my life, from sappy movies to the news of Walter Payton's death.

    =Z=
(I'll be waiting now for some immature Packer fan to jump on me for saying that)

Oh I wasn't talking about the crying.. as I to have no problem showing emotion.. maybe not on a sappy movie.. but Dale Sr. passing.. Walter's passing.. or even Brett's game against the Raiders.

I was thinking in terms of flip flopping like a flounder that can't decide his way...

Brett's emotions were very much a part of his makeup.. it was a drive of sorts for him.

Re: How many times can Adrian Peterson say "you know" in 27

You're not kidding. Some of the kids just coming out of college want to do stuff that took me years to be entrusted with. They have grandiose ideas about how our industry works. They have a sense of entitlement. One young girl gave me the middle finger when I told her something she did wasn't correct and it needed to be corrected.

Never had anyone piss in our hamper, but the boy across the street pissed in our toy box once!
