The thing that struck me about that game was not how badly the Steelers played, but how awesome the Ravens played. The Steelers are getting a lot of focus after that game as they are a Superbowl team but I think the thing we should be focusing on is the Ravens. They made a statement, the nightmare is going to be for the AFC and the teams in their division, but should we now consider the Ravens to be one of the many AFC teams to put their hats in the ring for a SB run? It may be a bit early to say, I don't believe you can project a teams season by game 1, for good or bad, but they looked pretty scary to me. Ray Lewis is lethal, as is Reed. They have some talent on this team, I think they are going to be in contention this year in the AFC.

I'll touch on the Steelers briefly. I'm not willing to call their season based on that game. I think they are more humiliated by that game than anything. It was a division game against one of their top rivals, that hurts no matter how hard you look at it. But, I think the Steelers are a team that is strong enough to regroup and lord have mercy on whoever they play next week. All that frustration is going to be taken out on them. Personally, I'm a lot madder at them because they pretty much blew up my fantasy football team (I have Big Ben and their D) than I am worried for their season.

It all hinges on Flacco, really. He played a big boy game yesterday, completing some hard passes, particularly the TDs to Boldin. He was poised, accurate, and never let the Steelers' D get to him.

If he plays like that in the playoffs, then yes, the Ravens are a team to fear. If he plays like how he has played up to now, no. 4 TDs, 7 INTS, 53% completion, 5.7 YPA, 61.6 QB rating, that won't fly against elite teams, and those are his numbers in the playoffs. Yes, "he" has won 4 playoff games, but "he" didn't have much to do with any of those wins.

In this league, teams will only go as far as their QB takes them. Because there are teams in this league, like us, who have as much defensive talent as those elite teams. But our QB will make the plays he has to make to win the game, and he will never make the mistakes to cost us the game.

That's the incredibly hard part of playing the Packers. Rodgers can make any play, he can make as many plays as any other QB in the league, but he absolutely does not make the mistakes. The only crucial game that I remember Rodgers making game-costing mistakes was against the Bears, yet in that game he also made a game-saving play by tackling Urlacher.

To beat us, you need the defense and the QB. The bears have the defense but not the QB. The Saints have the QB, but apparently not the D. Can the Ravens have both? I don't know yet.

I'm in Pittsburgh, so of course I enjoyed this one. Not fully, though - I was in a Pittsburgh sports bar, and my sister gets afraid of us getting beaten up, so I always try to contain my cheering against the Steelers. But I couldn't contain my laughing as they just kept on turning it over. Hopefully they continue playing like this the rest of the season and save me some heartburn.

I live in Baltimore surrounded by both fanbases. You know the media makes it out that they seem to hate each other. No way the Ravens and Steelers fans were making out with each other. Oh and I walk in a Matthews jersey, and Brew Crew hat and have a bunch of Bears and Cubs fans START **** with me. Yeah I accidentally drunkenly went into a "Bears" bar according to those turd flingers. I don't even think about Chicago sports fans often. They aren't even worth the time!

Then we should have called them the steers, since they have no balls.

I was at a town fair over the weekend. Last year all you could see were Steelers hats, jackets, jerseys, etc. This year there were hardly any to be seen. It's funny. I saw 49ers apparel. I saw Eagles apparel and once in a while, the occasional Steelers hat. Where did all those "fans" from last year go????

I gotta forward this thread to that traitorous daughter of mine. I'm buying both her kids a share in the Packers. I will not allow her to corrupt my bloodline.

Around here it is mostly Steelers, then Ravens, Redskins and Eagles and Giants/Jets. Just a few miles south of me it is mostly Ravens, then Steelers and the others. I'm in a kind of Bermuda triangle of the NFL.

Well, the Squealers may have lost that one game bad, but don't they have like the best record in the AFC since then? Could we see a replay of Superbowl XLV this year?
