Honest question about Viking fans on this board

I don't understand why Vikings fans come on here seeking sympathy and understanding either for Burnt Fraud or for their team.
Especially after a loss to the Pack.
If they want sympathy then they should go cry and whine on a Vikings or the OBF forum.
This isn't the place to do it.
Especially when they will seek to blame anyone or anything else then their own QB and team.

Nothing wrong with fans of another team coming to discuss football. It brings an interesting perspective.

But, the way I see it, they're coming to our house, so they must behave like guests. A lot of them do, a lot of them don't.

When I see the first post an opposing fan does is trash talk, even if he's doing it on the smack area, I immediatelly identify him as a troll.

Nothing wrong with talking smack, or even coming here to talk smack. But behave properly, identify yourself and do it in a polite manner...

I've heard this be said in 2008 on the Viking Radio Network right after the Packers beat the Seahawks in the playoffs, Viking fans are envious of what the Packers have. The packers have an iconic stadium, a franchise with a rich history, a popularity that makes us virtually "blackout proof." The Packers are basically the Yankees of the mid-west. If you don't love em' you gotta hate em.'

As a packer transplant who lives in Minneapolis (I grew up in central sconnie), I know about the boarder rivalry first hand. So I think that the Viking fans like to talk trash simply due to the fact that the packers are their rivals. I'm sure that Packer fans troll around Viking forums too.

Also, in any forum, I imagine that there are the people out there that just like to get attention by saying outlandish comments that will offend the very people the forum was designed for. There will always be the ignorant clown looking for attention.

This is why I don't really get into forum stats... you know, the rewards that you get for attaining a high amount of comments. People will post any uninteresting thing if they know that there will be some kind of reward for their behavior. That would be like me training my dog to take 10 little craps a day...sure he's got the numbers, but he's lacking substance.

A couple of years ago I made the mistake of posting the site of a Vikings forum I visit on a Packer board about a week before a Packer-Vikings game. About 6 of the Packer fans went over and caused all kinds of crap until they got booted. Which only took about 15 hours or so. Since then I won't post any link to any forum I visit. Not here, not there. There are always going to be some jerks that can't play nice. They usually weed themselves out fairly quickly but it's still a pain.

Vikings suck and always will
