I fully understand your point and it makes sense...Shaun had to get thru the tackles to get the td, where as Strahan just had to get thru one or 2 guys to get to Brett..

    But consider this...

Mike risked his MVP for the playoffs in order for him to get a record..Brett allowed someone to gain a record byMAYBE just laying down...Bret tnever came out and said he did it on purpose, Mike H did do it on purpose..

Which is worse in your eyes? wait dont answer it, cuz you will just say Bretts.

But the end result is the same, sort of a "fluff" play to allow someone to get a record..

Ok, yes he was bitching non-stop about just being in camp and retirement.
He brought up the subject on a daily basis.
If he did not want to answer the questions then try saying..
"I have nothing further to add about my future retirement" or maybe... "I am here to play this year so let's focus on this season for now"
    That would be nice.

As far as question #2, him saying that he did not know if he wanted the ball in his hands with the game on the line was pretty bad.
Great players want that ball. Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, John Elway, Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana.
That was a weak *** statement to make by Favre.

You say that "He ALONE should not be expected to save this team EVERY SINGLE GAME" yet you Packer fans plead with him to do just that by crying for him not to go and even trying to sign petitions for him to bail you out from another 4-12 season.
You know what is in stall for you without him so you want him to save you from reality "just one more year"

Terrible example. As far as I remember, ALexander ran it in against a defense that was trying to stop him. So what if the seahawks were up or down. That has nothing to do with the performance by Alexander. Favre gave up the record intentionally because he thought it would be cute. Or maybe Favre and Pete Rose had some money on Strahan.

your right, Tiger, Jordan and those types do want the ball in their hands, I fully agree with you on that..

but Phil what your missing here is this.....He was looking at the offseason nothing was really being done, and he is thinking, dang I am going to have to do it ALL...He was mentally tired of it...That is how I see it..

So then he had told people close to him he was retiring..He wasnt coming back....Then he says he doesnt want the ball in his hand with 2 mins to go..cuz he wasnt coming back..Not a weak statement, that is how he felt at the time..Then he heard Phil Simms on the radio and decided right then and there, to not retire..

I still dont understand your saying Brett was bitching about retiring?

He has said things liike no comment, I will let you know when I know, I will tell everyone when its time..But yet, what happened each time a mic is put into his face......HAVE YOU DECIDED YET??

Tell me, dont you think it gets old, and would wear on ANYONE being asked the same freaking question EVERY SINGLE DAY? If anything, he has held his own when asked that question..He could get real nasty and testy but he doesnt..He tries to explain to the media he doesnt know, but they still ask..

I know that the Saints were trying to stop Walter Payton the day he passed Jim Brown.
I also remember players diving to stop Pete Rose from getting a hit when was trying to break Joe DiMaggio's record.

All I have to say is...4 straight runs by Shaun...They in the playoffs, he is one short of the record, and Mike H RISKS his #1 player just to get a record..

    Second Quarter
    Seattle Seahawks continued...
    1-10-GB15 (15:00) S.Alexander right end to GB 3 for 12 yards (P.Lenon).
    1-3-GB3 (14:24) S.Alexander left tackle to GB 1 for 2 yards (N.Collins, G.Jackson).
    2-1-GB1 (13:44) S.Alexander right guard to GB 1 for no gain (G.Jackson, N.Barnett).
    3-1-GB1 (13:05) S.Alexander left end for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN.

Last year he called a press conference on a golf coarse just to say that he has not made up his mind.
What the hell was that all about?
Now he is supposed to announce his decision around the Super Bowl.
    Why then?
If he does not know right now then what is going to happen between now and the Super Bowl to make his choice clear?
If he wants to take more time then why announce it during the Super Bowl just to get the attention when all eyes are on the NFL?

That is why I say that he has some drama queen in him. He loves it and you guys make that happen. He wants you to beg him to play.
