    Are you sure?

I only seem to remember Brett saying he was going to make his decision when he makes his decision. I don't recall a time frame once so ever.

Here's the interview with ESPN Chris M.
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2311729

Doesn't say a time frame though as you claim to remember. Although, this interview was substantially AFTER the time frame you claim to remember, therefore proves nothing but wtf I'm gonna leave it there anyhow.

I do. He was asked after the Bears game when he would decide and he said "Soon, probably in the next two weeks"
Maybe you missed it while all the Packer fans were crying along with him

Here is a refresher for you. You have to watch 4 minutes of pure gay tribute crap to get to it but look at the 4:50 to 4:55 mark and then you can have a big hot cup of STFU.

    Retiring?

It was obvious I mistook your comment as referring to the end of the '05 season, therefore being a complete * was uncalled for.

btw, he says 'Probably in the next couple weeks' ... doesn't specifically say TWO weeks (although COUPLE typically means TWO) and he also threw that 'probably' in there to buy himself more time.

Everyone will know when they know. No one will be able to predict it, although he IS playing in '07. :p

Why you thought that I was talking about something from a year ago when I said two weeks ago was your **** up not mine so save the attitude.
Another case of Packer fans not bothering to actually follow through with reading a comment or getting your facts straight before getting all weirded out.
I guess that I can see your confusion about which year he said that might retire.... since he has done it every season for the last 5 years.

Er the basic premise of the English language can lead one to inference he will have decided within the next couple of weeks.

NO WHERE does it say he will come public with that decision within the next two weeks also. Perhaps he has decided, and has kept it quiet beyond his family and his team.

There's way too much swearing going on in this thread. Phil and Zero, you two can expect some kind of discipline from Ryan sometime in the next day or so. You too, AADP, for your blatant lack of action here. Don't think for a moment that Ryan won't be hearing about you. Actually, forget that, I'm going right past Ryan on this one, and contacting the forum's host. This has to stop. Vulgarity has no place on the internet, not to mention a Packers site.

This absolute bunch of ******* bullshit will not be tolerated.

What a joke! If you can't get excited about a Packers/Bears game in your home stadium, why even play? There is a great deal of tradition revolving around that game, and as a player , you would figure to have some sort of PRIDE in the team colors you are wearing, not to mention going into the playoffs on a high note.

New Years had nothing to do with it. Grossman is an AVG. QB at best. He is short, has small hands, and his season will be over by 4:00 P.M. 1/14/07!

Let's face it clown, Brett Favre and Rex Grossman should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

Brett Favre = Hall of Fame

Rex Grossman = 2nd string qb that may play 5 years in the NFL

Brett taking a sack was him showing respect to another player, something a spammer like yourself could never comprehend!

Favre screwing the record book by giving up a sack on purpose is showing respect??? How about the guy who held the record before? How much respect did Brett show that guy? How much respect did Brett show his own right tackle? That guy probably got charged with giving up a sack.

Impressive way to spin that one for Brett.

lol. i like this convo. there's steroid abusers and straight up murderers in the NFL, and people bash Brett cuz he MIGHT HAVE laid down for a buddy to get him the record. Give him the Saddam treatment! I'll get my cell phone camera ready.

yeah......what of Mark Gastineau's record? the guy was a knob, and records are made to be broken. Strahan got the sack and brett earned the respect of NFL Players for doing it. IMHO.

No excuses here. Grossman played on a level that gave the Bears the win. They shouldn't ask for much more.

For as great of a player and person that brett has been, there is no way to defend what he did. The NBA took away a rebounding record for something along those same lines. The NFL should have done the same.

Brett Favre told NBC immediately following Green Bay's win against the Chicago Bears that he will be making a decision as to his retirement "real soon" and "within the next couple of weeks".

See the inbreed hick did say in a couple of weeks.

Yet you guys just whined like a little girl over Grossman not giving 100% right?
I am pretty sure that you brought up the subject but then want to back track when someone points out that Lord Favre has had his moments.

Wimping out in the Super Bowl against the Broncos while Elway gave up his body to get a TD.

Not even trying to dive for the first down in the playoffs against the Vikings. Instead he does some stupid flip pass beyond the line of scrimmage and then LAUGHS about it afterward.

Coming into camp every year and bitching about how he is not sure if he can commit to another season.

Saying that he does not know if he wants the ball in his hands with the game on the line any more.

    What a hero

Whimping out??? To me whimping out would be partying in nightclubs till all hours, and then have to play in the super bowl..And cuz you spent so much time partying, you are puking up on the field during the SUPER BOWL...

He thought he could pass it for a td or a 1st down...He went over the line and was not aware of it at the time..Then realized he WAS over the line..And laughed? Never occured to you that MAYBE the laugh was one of those WE all have done when we done something so crazy it was stupid..

What is your defenition of "bitching"? EVERY FREAKING DAY for training camps, practices, games thru out the entire season in the last few years he is asked the same question....And your going to tell me that he has no right to get ticked off at it being asked?

Did you ever hear the interview, or see the piece of him saying he doesnt want the ball? Why isnt he allowed to say that? I think it was more, the fact that he ALONE is expected to save this team EVERY SINGLE GAME...And it has wore him out mentally...

" I don't know if I want to be the guy anymore. If there are two minutes left in the game, I don't know if I want to be the guy with the ball.. I never throught I'd give up mentally before I did physically."

and as far as him laying down for a sack?? If he DID do it on purpose, Big freaking deal As you guys have been stating the last few weeks..The game MEANT nothing!!!

Now how come you dont whine or bitch bout Holmgren letting the MVP of 2005 run the ball in for a TD to get a record? and if I am NOT mistaken Mike admitted to it!!!

go to a seahawks site and bring that up if things like that bother you so much!!

So Favre purposely taking a dive is ok in your world but Grossman saying that he did not give 100% makes him **** on the NFL's shoes right?

How do you compare Holmgren "letting" HIS OWN player score a TD to break a record with that sack thing that Favre pulled?
Was the opposing team also in on Holmgren's master plan?
If not then Alexander scored that TD on his own effort, not like Favre lying down so Strahan can give him a kiss while several other Giants players patted Favre on the head.
Now you are just talking crap.

Just admit that Favre did something that you would be crucifying Rex Grossman or any other player for doing.
