Am I the only person that is happy this movie is failing at the box office? I wasn't a big fan of the 8 mile movie, and this appears to be the same damn thing as that pretty much.

    (sorry, had to vent)

Good. This gangsta crap needs to get out of the mainstream. It's nothing but poison.

Seriously, enough 50!!!! Man is a hyprocrite, his music is loosing all originality, and he is rapping about things that have been done before. I'm glad his movie flopped. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for him.

I wasn't a big fan of the 8 mile movie,

The only reason I liked 8 mile was because the criminal/mayor of detroit is trying to show how great it is now and the movie helped show what the real detroit looks like when you leave the downtown area. They're rebuilding it allright. They are putting all kinds of new businesses downtown while the rest of the city is a wreck.

Michigan Central Station (same architect that built grand central station)
this beautiful building has been abanded/vandalized since 1988.
    another pic of the station

    old tigers stadium article
stadium has been abandoned since 2000.

    "Sheesh.....youngsters."

I miss the old days, going to a midnight showing of Led Zeppelins " The Song Remains the Same" fortified by chemicals not approved by the FDA.

    Sucks to get old.

See, I like the downtown shots. I'll be near Ann Arbor and Wayne for Thanksgiving. Maybe I'll take a self-guided tour of Detroit. I haven't been there in 4 years.

downtown detroit is getting lots better, that was kinda my point. the rest of the city is going to hell. There is alot of cool stuff to do downtown though. I live about 15 minutes north of ann arbor so I usually don't go to detroit except for work sometimes. Once in great while I'll go to a tigers or red wings game, but it's damn near impossible to get lions tickets.
