At the very least I think the Niners might want to check out Reggie Wayne. He is a reliable target for big games and still plays at a high level IMO.
Wayne to the Saints makes a lot of sense actually. He is from NO and well.....it would be a chance to get another ring with another elite QB. And he would be with another indoor team. Not sure if Reggie leaves but he already said "he won't make it easy" on the Colts. Sigh.
Yes he certainly has gotten quite a mouth for a guy in the twilight of his career. He seems to want out of Indianapolis. I think it'd be worth it for the Saints to kick the tires, but if he doesn't come at a good price, I wouldn't expect them to make a move.
Something deep inside me did NOT want Smith to have as many rings as Aaron. On the other hand I still call him Flacc because there is no "o" in Flacco.
ROTFLMFAO!!! The Giants got lucky with two botched kick returns that left them in position to score 14 points and just barely win that game. The Giants are NOT the best team in the NFL, NFC or even the NFCE. Gimme a break. And Manning is STILL NOT ELITE. hahahhaha
And now Randy Moss is a Niner and it's only the first day of FA and the draft is over a month away. The S.F. 49ers: SUPERBOWL LXXVIII CHAMPIONS
Or not. Reggie the beast stayed where he belongs and did not go ring whoring. He plans on being a Colt for life. He even turned down the Patriots I read and I have proof in an article so I can look at it forever! Long live Reggie Wayne. I was wrong. I thought for sure he was out. Reggie's leadership and experience is going to be huge for Luck.
You guys should consider yourselves lucky if you don't lose your starting QB over this. If I were Smith, I would be out the door and not looking back. An extra mil might not be enough to resolve this. But here is the good news! The Tebow Train may be heading your way soon! LOL! Good luck over there. It does sadden me to some degree because I honestly thought the 4ers were really starting to build something. Now, not only have they lost Manning, but they may very well be losing Smith as a result.
Smith has been dumped on enough. You should hand him ownership of the team. Harbaugh you mucked up a bit here......
He really did step in it this time. Bringing another QB around when you already have a starter on your roster is kind of like cheating on your wife. It's kind of like a slap in the face after how well the team did last year with Smith. Who can blame Smith for taking the first outbound flight out of SF? The question then becomes where does Smith go? Miami, Tenn? Also Tebow has now joined this three ring circus.
Well I sure don't want Tebow that's for sure. The Niners really blew it by pursuing Manning. Very disappointing. We didn't need Manning. We may have to rely on Kaepernick now. Too bad. I liked Alex Smith. He did a great job last year.
Curtis Painter is on the market. Come on lets realize the plan Harbaugh had. Get Manning and trade him back to the Colts in exchange for Luck.
Lets not forget about the Jets. If they've figured out they probably won't be winning a SB with Sanchez, they might start looking for a QB and they may do it this season. This would put Sanchez on the market. I can't see Smith or Tebow playing for the Jets, though.
Alex re-signed with the Niners for a three-year deal paying him $8 million a season but as much as $33 million overall and $16.5 million guaranteed. That's a step up from the three-year, $24 million deal with $10 million guaranteed that had been on the table for more than two weeks. That's what I call apology money! lol Read more here: http://blogs.sacbee.com/49ers/archi...-their-offer-to-alex-smith.html#storylink=cpy
If you got Peyton he was going to take over your entire team and cost a fortune. I never saw Peyton and Jim meshing too well. Actually I didn't really see Peyton and the Colts new head coach really meshing either.
