Just wanted to let you guys know that i came to wisconsin for the first time in my life this past monday and didn't leave until tuesday. I had to go there for work and was not looking forward to it as i have been a packer hater for years. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean your state was. I had to go to wisconsin dells, beaver dam, and hartford and i went through alot of towns that looked like nice places to live. Although you hang your traffic lights weird, i had a pretty nice visit considering i was working. So, even though I still hate the packers, I thought I'd let you know I thought you had a pretty nice state.

big3, glad you had a nice time in our state. If you like the outdoors you should try northern Wisconsin sometime. Most Lions fans I have met have been pretty good people. Now Queens fans - not good. I think that comes from never winning an NFL Championship like the Packers, Lions and Bears have. Anyway good luck to Mooch, one of my favorite coaches, and the Lions. Except when they play the Packers, of course. :D

Hi All. We live in Queen territory and according to the daily newspaper, the queens have the greatest defense now because they have sharper and smoot. they said now culpepper doesn't have to carry the team by himself. Oh well, it is the same song and dance every pre season.

So wrong sonny boy traxx. Vikings beat the Browns in 1969 for the NFL championship. Now run back to your "I love the Pack since 1995" buddies in Fon du Lac.

    Skaol!

Same song and dance? I thought last year was "Superbowl or Bust" for Brett. Hmm... what happened in the playoffs? Looks like bust to me.

At least Brett doesn't say it every year as the queens say it every year. And don't forget ?Skoal Vikes that Favre's wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a relative of several people who have had or do have cancer, you have them on your mind constantly, and I think that might have had something to do with Brett.

Respectfully Carol, of course having a loved one diagnosed with cancer is a distraction of the most extreme kind. I will, however, point out that the Favre family are not the only ones to have to endure such a traumatic event. When Favres father died and Brett had the incredible game against the Raiders on MNF everyone said that he was inspired by his dad to perform at his best. OK, then why isn't the same standard applied to last season? One tragedy inspires while the other is a distraction? Don't delude yourself so much, but I guess that is the nature of cheeseheads. Favre can NEVER EVER do anything wrong. The Vikes broke the home winning streak in '98 and shattered the Lambeau "mystique" in the playoffs last year. Brett may struggle two more years with no talent, save for an aging running back, around him, but "Super Bowl or Bust" is as much of a joke this year as last.

    Skoal -

Being inspired by a loved one... for many reasons... can take many turns.

As far as Brett losing his father? The mere fact that he was now gone - never to be seen, never to shake his hand again, never to give the man a hug, eveer again.... you know the drill - can be very motivating...!

With his Wife - who happens to still be here, in case you hadn't noticed... in process of bravely trying to fight against a deadly enemy? CERTAINLY, that can be an incredible distraction. Not very many people would have strength enough to keep going...

You're mixing apples & oranges at this point.
If Favre feels like he has been rejuvenated(?) I believe him!

My understanding is that he doesn't have that fear of losing his Wife any longer - at least for the forseeable future - and he takes heart in that. Again, another incredible motivator - winning the battle against cancer is giving Brett that lift he wanted and probably needed in more ways than one.

How many other times in History have we seen great things accomplished when a Man becomes inspired by a Woman? You need to rethink your comment!

That has been gone the past 5 years. The vikes just came to play that day as they should should have been as they lost twice to the Pack already that season.

I'd take that statement into consideration when the vikes have to backdoor it into the playoffs again and then choke. They had just as much business being in the playoffs last year as the packers... none. Neither team had a defense. If they could have gone w/o a NFC N team in the playoffs it would have been better for everyone in the leauge.

What does "backdoor into the playoffds" really mean? You still have to win more games than the team chasing you to get in. Does it matter if the wins come in September of December? The record is the record. By that logic if the Vikes crumble at the end of the season and the Pack gets in doesn't that mean that the Packers backed in as well?
Also Ryan, what is the definition of choking? Losing at home to a team you have beaten twice and "backed" into the playoffs?

But enough of the past, that is for cheeseheads to live in. I am looking to this season and will relish the Packs last place finish in the division. If I am wrong I will take my lump but the Pack and the Bears will be fighting it out for last place while the improved Lions challenge the Vikings for the division.

    Skoal!!!

No offense guys - but with this rational - let's all remember the Arizona/Minnesota game of a year ago... one last play NOT made in that game - and the Vikings would have gone on, while we stayed home... Everyone remember that?

I'd rather see a thread that shows comparisons on why each Fan figures his Team will win out - comparisons can start "position-by-position" / Defense versus Defense / same goes for the O-Line, etc...

So - let's just see how knowledgeable you AVID football fans really - and Bruce (?) let's let the troopers do this item...

Alright SKOAL - you start for your side and AG? - you can start for our side.... in response... Start a brand new thread - Comparing ??????? - I don't care - name it whatever... but this argumentative 7th grade chatter gets us nothing.. bring up real football talk that backs up how yours may be better than the other guys...

Trust me - you'll get EVERYONE involved with their own ideas....
How smart are you reallly.... when it comes to your Team and the others in our Division and how smart are you about football, period! (???????????)

Skoal--I do not delude myself as you say many Packer fans do. I have been the first to say that Favre makes mistakes. He, in my opinion is not God. He is a human being like the rest of us. And as far as "many Packer fans delude themselves"--how many Viking fans delude themselves. As I have said before, I live in viking territory and as soon as the draft picks have been chosen, all of the viking fans around here are saying they are going to the Super Bowl. This has been happening for the last 8 years around here. Anyway, have a good day and rest of the week.

"Brett may struggle two more years with no talent, save for an aging running back, around him"

OK skoal, not the brightest crayone in the box are ya. Brett was 3rd in passing yards last year. Im not gonna sit here and say he was distracted by all the stuff going on off the field because that is bull. The field is where he went to get that off his mind. Thats no excuse. The Queens got to play the Pack in the playoffs without us having fergy or walker. Pretty fortunate for the Queens, still no excuse for how we played, but sure helped yall. I was unfortuanate enough to be there and witness the crap. And as far as our aging back. The queens dont even have a running back except one thats sitting on the sideline hurt all the time. Your starter is too busy straping it on. And now has got the whole season to sit around, get stoney and watch his team lose. Go back to your purple pride pansy forum and leave the big boy stuff to us Packer fans.

Carol, if it sucks so bad to live in Minnesota you are more than welcome to relocate east.

The usual straw grasping by a fan of the guys in violet from the land of 10,000 excuses. (Incidentally, Wisconsin has more lakes than Minnehaha, as well) Vikie fans like to grasp on to that "in-name-only" tag ... makes 'em feel like they're fans of something more than the NFC version of the Buffalo Bills. Hang in there yourself "sonny", maybe this'll be the year that the Queenies don't go teats up ... unlikely, but hey, it could happen.

skoalvikes, I never said that it s##### so bad to live in MN. I love my state. I was born, raised, and as I said I still live here. Just because I am an avid Packer fan doesn't mean I dislike my state. I dislike the attitude of some--and you'll notice I said "some"--of the viking fans. They think that their team is better than evreyone else's, and gloat when they beat the Packers, but yet they can't seem to make their way to the Super Bowl again.

I seriously have to wonder about Vikings fans who feel the need to post in a Packer forum.
