Favre goes down in week 9, and the Packers still stink.

Hope is for something that might happen. How can you hope for something that hasn't happened in 15 years?

For grossman, you are hoping for him to get through an entire season without injury. Wait a minute, that hasn't ever happened either!

Lets see. The Bears have beat Favre 5 of the last 6 games that they have played. I am definately not hoping that Favre gets hurt. Favre has been very helpful to the Bears in that streak. Hope is that Favre is there at the end of the year for game 16 so that the Bears second string gets a chance to beat him.

Sorry. The obvious response would be "what about the 14 years before that?". I remember those games also.

Why is this thread still going?

Brett Favre(even though I hate him) , 3 time MVP, SB champion, top three(maybe higher by seasons end) QB of all time in most stats.

    Grossman ????????

    This thread is ridiculous.

Actually, this thread was started to compare Favre and Grossman this year, which is a legit comparision. I don't think that anyone is comparing their careers.

Favre has proven himself, Grossman has yet to.

So far, this year, Grossman has been as good as Favre. I might even go so far as to say that last year, Grossman did as much good for his team as Favre did.

It takes more than 7 or 8 games to prove your worth for a career.

Nowhere is anybody saying that Grossman career > Favre career. I don't even know if in this thread, that somebody has said that Grossman is great this year. Overall his stats show that he has been decent. I still am not convinced that he should be starting over Greise - who has a better career completion percentage and is within 1 point in the qb rating of you know who.

All the matters right now is what the qbs are doing this year. Right now grossman is 7-0 and favre is 3-4.

At least the Bears have a QB that may or may not be there for the long run, the packers have one that will not be there much longer. The Bears had a long wait to get a QB of Grossman's talent, how long of a span was it between Bart Star and Favre? I see hope and success for the Bears now and in the future, can you honestly say the same about the packers?

For the record the Cubs suck and baseball sucks.

What have you got when Favre retires? NOTHING.

I hope he never retires and plays for the packers well into his 80s, 2 easy wins a year for the Bears.
