Culpepper, Williams seek dismissal on charges

    NFL.com wire reports

MINNEAPOLIS (March 2, 2006) -- Lawyers for Minnesota Vikings players Daunte Culpepper and Moe Williams accused a prosecutor of racial discrimination, saying he charged black men but ignored possible crimes by two white men in the team's boat party scandal.

The attorneys served a motion March 1 on prosecutor Steven Tallen asking for the dismissal of charges against the two players, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press. Tallen did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press.

The Star Tribune first reported the story. In an interview with the newspaper, Tallen denied that race played any role in his decisions on charges.

Culpepper, Williams and two other players face trial on misdemeanor charges of indecent conduct and lewdness for their alleged behavior on two cruise boats last October on Lake Minnetonka. They have pleaded not guilty.

In their motion, defense attorneys allege Hennepin County sheriff's investigators have evidence that a boat captain and another man -- both white -- engaged in indecent conduct but were not charged.

It does not excuse ones conduct to say others are doing it too.

The SAD part of their actions is.........when REAL racial things happen, it's looked over because of THIS kind of crap. The "boy who cried wolf" syndrome.

I'm just saying its sad, cause when it does really happen, and it does, the HONEST people suffer because of the losers that play that card to try to get away with crap.
The Viking jerks that did that stuff, instead of admitting they did something wrong, cry, whine and say "But HE did it too, and HE'S not in trouble!!!" WHAH!!!
It's like the guy that gets pulled over for speeding that crys "But other people were speeding too!" Like it should be overlooked, cause others are breaking the law TOO!

I am so dang tired of the race card being played with anything that goes on. If it was the other way around it would be "sorry bout your luck." We cant have our own holidays but we sure get off for one of theirs dieing, and work on fricking Presidents day. Its played out and they should be smacked in their glass jaws for it.

    Just my opinion!

Iam all FOR EQUAL rights........EQUAL being the important word. You can't make up for the horrible things done during slavery by over compensating with reverse discrimination.
