    I believe that was the Baltimore Colts. Nonetheless the Vikings lost every Super Bowl, and that in itself is quite embarrassing.

    The FIRST NFL team to lose to an AFL team was when the NFL's Baltimore Colts lost to the AFL's New York Jets in Super Bowl III. The Vikings lost to the Chiefs at Super Bowl IV, which was one year later.

    The 1975 Vikings are considered to be one of the best Vikings teams ever.
    The Fran Tarkenton-led Vikings had a 12-2 regular season record and were looking for their third straight Superbowl appearance.
    With time running out and the Vikings leading the Cowboys 14-10, Roger Staubach launched a long pass downfield to Drew Pearson, who appeared to have pushed off prior to making the catch that scored the game-winning touchdown. The result was a devasting 17-14 loss. This was the birth of the "Hail Mary."

    Not picking on you. People forget that the Colts were originally in the NFL not the AFL. As well as the Steelers and the Browns. Just one of those things that us "history" types don't like to let slide.
