Draft Contest

I'd like to propose a different kind of draft contest. Just throw out 10 names. Just players that you think the Packers will wind up drafting, in whatever round, for whatever reason. We'll see who gets the most right after the draft.

Rules:
1) You don't need to work up an entire mock draft - just a list of names. You don't have to guess which round, and you don't have to predict trades.

2) You may change your predictions at any time before midnight, April 27th. This will allow for any changes caused by trades or signings between now and then.

Here's my preliminary list:
Marshawn Lynch, RB, Cal
Michael Griffin, S, Texas
Ted Ginn, WR, Ohio State
Kenny Irons, RB, Auburn
Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC
Jacoby Jones, WR, Lane
Michael Bush, RB, Louisville (used to be John Beck, QB, BYU, but his stock is rising too fast)
Zach Miller, TE, Arizona State
Josh Swogger, QB, Montana
Ben Patrick, TE, Delaware

(Obviously, I'm not saying that I think we'll draft all these players. Just trying to hedge my bets. )

<--* bump *-->

With only a week to go before the real thing, I thought I'd push this one back to the top and see if anyone was interested or wanted to change their votes.

BTW, I changed my list to include Lynch...

I suppose I should at least offer some meager prize (a genuine imitation backup of one of my Packer DVDs, maybe?)

Since69.....just one question. How did you come up with Josh Swogger as a Packer pick? Have you seen him play? I'm not trying to be a smart *** here.....I watched Swogger all last year as I go to all the Griz games. He's good and has an arm, but couldn't outrun a one-legged ant.

People out here think he won't go anywhere and may sign as a free agent and then get cut. But you never know.

He's just one name that comes up in the rumors once in a while...

I've heard his name come up also, and he did seem to do okay at the combine. He is very smart and very accurate passer, but boy, when our line broke down on protection it got ugly. I think he commented once that he know knew how Custer felt at the Little Big Horn.

The results are in! And the winner is... nobody.

No one correctly guessed any of our picks. The only conclusion I can draw here is that Ted Thompson knows nothing about our team needs or about evaluating talent...

Better luck next year, guys.
