Dino Heinemeyer, of Shiocton (Wis.) High School, has been named Green Bay Packers Coach of the Week, the organization announced Wednesday.
Heinemeyer's Chiefs team improved to 8-0 after defeating conference-rival Iola-Scandinavia by a score of 14-7 last Friday. The Chiefs now travel to Manawa to face the Wolves on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
"It's always a goal to win a conference championship and after last week's victory we've at least clinched a share of that, but we're not looking to settle for a tie," Heinemeyer's said. "A win tomorrow can cap off that perfect season, and we can clinch the title by ourselves."
A native of Shiocton and an alumnus of the program he currently leads, Heinemeyer was a three-way player during his own prep career, appearing at halfback, cornerback, and placekicker under head coach Joe Schleis at the school.
He attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where he graduated in 1990.
