I was thinking the other day I think AJ Hawk is one of the leading candidates for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Ernie Sims in Detroit is also playing well, however. Who do you guys think will take the Defensive ROY honors?

Hawk has done a very good job but Anderson has been great.
He looks like he can start right now and that alone is impressive because the Bears are very deep at the D line posistion.

Anderson also has tommie harris playing next to him, which makes him a much better player. how good a player would anderson be if he was stsrtinng on the packers?

Gawd, stop putting words in peoples mouths. He never said Anderson sucks. He said the guy gets alot of help from playing next to people like Tommie Harris(pro bowler and better than Warren Sapp in Sapp's prime).

No, he sucks. I admit it.
A.J. Hawk does it all on his own. Right?

But since you are supposing if this player played for that team, and that player for this team.... If A.J. Hawk was on the Bears he would be on the bench.

I think AJ will be a great one in the future but to be honest I don't really think he's done anything special yet. YET I said before you get to riled up.

I pretty much agree with this comment. However, i will say this. I think that the packers as a team chase down the running back better on screen passes then they did last year. We are playing well vs the run this year. I dont know that is is because we have AJ or maybe just better coaches and Woodson in the secondary alleviating pressure off of the rest of the defense.

That being said, we cant let Joey Harrington get 400 yards. Yes, i realize he had like 60 pass attempts but still, its Joey Harrington. We had too many problems wraping up receivers after short catches that turned into long ones. Woodson was awesome today tho. If he plays like this every game, he was more than worth the money that he got. Wow, i really got off topic here :)

I agree he hasn't done anything special, yet. He's just steadily getting better and getting a better feel for the speed of the game. Once he gets an int or causes a fumble that'll be something special.

AJ is not a leading candidate for ROY. Anderson, Sims and Kamerion Wembley are all well ahead of him at this point.

I can see how maybe anderson and sims are but wimbly? Has in the 20 tackle range with 3 sacks? Hawk after today according to Packers.com statistics will have 54 tackles and 2.5 sacks with a fumble recovery.

If the Bears keep this streak going then Anderson will win it of course.

No one said AJ does it all on his own, either. Again putting words in peoples mouth, but if you wanna think Anderson sucks then that's your business.

Btw, if you don't think AJ could start over Hillenmeyer then you need to take the bear goggles off. You guys have a tremendous D no question, but I can recall a few of my bear fan friends hoping for a LBer in the draft.

And if you think that the Bears need a rookie playing next to Briggs and Urlacher then you really don't know that much about football.

I said that Hawk was doing a very good job. Trom picked Anderson over him as well but you are not wetting your pants about that.

Let it go man.

Well go and read my post in the other thread about this same topic because I said Anderson will more than likely win DROY especially if the Bears keep winning. I also said Anderson AND Sims are both ahead of Hawk in DROY(although I disagree that Kameron Wimbley would be). Btw, Hawk is better than Hillenmeyer. Anyone that knows football will tell you you put your best players on the field.

Hillenmeyer is a solid player that doesn't make mistakes. I am sure that Hawk is a better athlete, but I don't think that he would be starting over Hunter.

Also, If Hawk had better players around him, maybe he wouldn't be getting so many tackles.

Considering Barnett is also a tackling machine and Hawk is matching him this season as a rookie I wouldn't exactly use the "if he had better players around him" because if Hawk were playing with Urlacher and Briggs as a rookie I'm pretty sure Hawk wouldnt have AS MANY tackles as those two for sure.

I'm speechless at that insight.

THe rookie would have as many tackles as the two pro-bowlers / reigning DMVP.

Sorry 4th, you misread me badly. I said WOULDN'T have as many tackles as those two FOR SURE.

I'm speechless and blind. My fault.

Not to mention he will be coached by Schittenheimer, even Harrington got 400 yards vs our D backs.

Well, actually Anderson would be coached by Sanders and Claristone. Anderson is a helluva passrusher.
