Oh God if it is then he needs to go away. I swear I had enough of Archie. He said during the season that Luck and Peyton did not want to be on the same team. Then a few days later "Oh yes they could work out, nevermind."

Good gracious. I just want a team again. I don't care if they win 4 games next year. Just build a team that is not just about one guy and his legacy and his GOATNESS and desires and dreams.

If it was not for this forum I might go nuts.

I have brought up that Peyton is not the GOAT before and I have gotten yelled at. I don't get the GOAT obsession anyway. And no you can't be the GOAT if you have a losing playoff record.

    GOAT GOAT GOAT........milk.

If it's Archie you know he is not being fair to his youngest child. You know the kid playing in the Super Bowl Sunday night who has had quite the season himself.

Now folks, the plot thickens. Irsay tweeted tonight and it has Colts fans already in a stir:

    Irsay said:

I hope he means next Friday and not today.

Should mention, I was at MSG with press credentials the day Peyton was drafted, and I was fortunate enough to sit in on his first presser, as well as Leaf's (where he declared he was "pick 1b"). I knew Manning would be a success, and I knew Leaf would crash and burn...and I came to that conclusion simply listening to what each of them had to say.

Peyton was so genuinely humble that day, so committed to putting his head down and working hard. Somehow, he seems like a different guy today. Can't quite put my finger on it (maybe it was that public dust up with Vander-kicker or whatever his name is...the one where Peyton was talking about how many Pro Bowls he'd been in), but that seems like a million years ago now.

I almost wish he'd become a television personality at this point. I'd hate to see him take the path Favre did. That is one legacy that would have benefited from the self-discipline to just plain retire and stay retired. How would we all see Favre now if he just would have done that instead? Sad.

Sort of sounds like he means tomorrow.

Archie is kind of getting a stage mom rep, it seems. The person I was speaking with speculated it was him because laws dictating the sharing of medical information would limit who would have access to it. I don't know, but it also seems to fit in a way.

There is no GOAT of all time, sorry but there isn't one.

It's a big argument for Favre, Montana, Manning, Brady, Marino, and Unitas.

There is no GOAT of all time though if you compare them all.

You have Manning and Favre who choked big games

Marino, whom never had a running game to help him out

Unitas has the records, and overall was the best quarterback back in the old brutal days.

Montana, 4-0 in the big game, that's the best argument there, ever for a quarterback.

and if the Pats win the Super Bowl, I guess that mean Brady will "surpass Montana as the best ever" even though his record will still have a Super Bowl loss.

And as far as the GOAT thing goes, I also hate how people go beyond depth statistics to try and prove it. Marino never had a running game, Montana had Rice to throw to all day long, Peyton never was as mobile as the others, Brady had the tuck rule that started his legacy, and Favre was a choker. You can argue all that all day long but it don't change the W/L's for those guys or anything else.

I wonder what happens today. *shivers* This has to piss off Irsay. He did not want to take care of any of this BEFORE the SB.

In case people don't realize this. Peyton and Luck share the same agent.....

Agree. Can't pick a GOAT for me either. I mean, you can have an argument for several of them. My dad thinks its Unitas and you won't convince him otherwise. If Brady wins Sunday night it will be Brady/Montana for many.

I know for me personally and I have said this before on this forum I think I might feel the most emotional connection with Rodgers over any other QB I have been a fan of. He just has always hit home with me for some reason.

Manning often at times has left me cold despite his skills. He is a funny guy but a lot of it has become great acting over the years to me as he became more seasoned.

I was on the Manning side over Leaf as well. I hated Leaf. And I agree.....I can't put my finger on it either but something changed with Peyton as he aged. Perhaps like Irsay said he became a politician? My sister thinks he should be a senator.

I think a lot of it was when Peyton joined this league he was supposed to be the best. And it took so long to win a SB. Until he was nearly 31. And even then it was our D that stepped it up to win it all.

I feel like a lot of it stemmed from watching the Pats and Brady win 3 titles too before he ever did.

And now with Eli pushing for #2 it might get to him even more.

I kinda felt bad for Peyton but I don't like the interviews this week he has done. I wish he would have kept quiet. He has hurt his image more then helped it. Or Archie, I don't know.

Eli has been the dumped on Manning since he joined the NFL. And strangely he has surpassed his brother in the postseason which has become a new taboo topic.

I do agree that Archie was telling the truth when he first said "Peyton and Luck can't co-exist". I am not sure this can happen.

Some can be biased towards their choice of the GOAT, notice that among the Favre and Manning fans of recent years, but even I can't chose one.

I guess i would split it into categories, but even that is verrrry hard to agree. Like the greatest arm, or the most beautiful bomb? The only one I know I could decide on is the greatest scrambler, and that for me is Steve Young, no one could escape pressure better than him.

Aaron Rodgers throws the best passes in the history of the NFL that get dropped.

Nope, and it is for the best. The Super Bowl is tomorrow, this situation needs to avoid being Favreian in its efforts to take away from what should be the bigger story.

Manning sure did hog up the spot light from his brother. Peyton and TEBOW. That's all I ******* heard about, what Peyton said and what Tebow was saying. 2 players that aren't even in the Super Bowl hogged up all the media attention.

There is more today and yesterday actually about what he might do with his contract if he is released from the Colts. He wants to make it easier for opposing teams to take a chance.

    Enough Peyton. Enough.
