Looks to me like NodakPaul is trying to get off to an early lead and unseat Vikesrule for the 2009 BURP award.

I have no idea what that means, but it sounds interesting... :)

What I don't understand is Viking fans making fun of anyone's quarterback situation. When I think of great quarterback competition I don't come up with Jackson, Frerrotte, and Bollinger. In fact I don't think Bollinger should even play Canadian football.

I am not making fun of your QB situation... right now. But if you sign fumblepepper - then I will start making fun of your QB situation. :) I would take Head-Butt Gus and BB over Culpepper any day of the week (especially Sundays!).

I have to imagine that they're talking to him in case they don't have an opportunity to draft a backup that they like. Still, Cullpepper? That's not good news for Packer fans that they're even considering him. I mean, come on. Aaron Brooks has to be around somewhere. I hear Jeff George is looking for a team that hasn't tried him yet. There has to be a better option out there for you.

Or Vinny Testaverde. I'm sure we could lure him out of retirement.

I'm not saying that the Vikings situation is better, not with Bollinger on the roster. However, if your team considers Culpepper a viable option for a position on their roster, you automatically lose all right to claim superiority. It's one of those unwritten rules. Football doesn't have as many of those as Baseball, but that's one of them. :)

Okay, I'm sure I'm walking into a setup here, but what's the 'U' stand for?

exactly. this is the weirdest thread ever.

thats like a vikings fan making fun of some team with no Super Bowls.

Jackson, Ferrotte, and Bollinger. thats what radio stations across the midwest will be laughing at. I still cant believe it... thats hilarious to me. This guy comes in talking smack, WITH THAT LINEUP!?!?

i honestly dont see the big deal here. we have one quarterback on the roster currently. (better than the Vikings collective 3) If you dont look at every option and interview them... your not leading your team. So what if we sign him, he wont play unless theres an injury. Just like if we sign Craig Nall or any other backup worthy QB.

There is no drama here. Its a team checking all options. Just a sad sad Vikings fan, grasping at straws to find the one sketchy roster spot in the paradise we call Lambeau. Jealousy is a stinky cologne.

You will have to ask Trippster. He created them. I just assumed that he put the "U" in to make a word for the award.

Yes. Barp, Berp, Birp, and Borp, just don't ring very well.

Other than being an over-weight, over the hill quarterback with a bad knee, who can't run anymore, and has 93 fumbles in 92 games......I'd say he's worth a look. NOT!!!!

If that's an actual stat I'm surprised people still look at him...

Talk about overreaction. Culpepper won't make or break this team.

I agree.

A guy like Culpepper might be just want A-Rod needs as far as 'competition' goes.

With that said, I'd bet cash money he never wears a Packers jersey, not even in a photoshop. Photoshop wouldn't even allow it. It would crash the computer.

I knew there was talk about a Raider that was an exViking but I thought Brett wanted Moss not have Brett retire and get Culpepper

FYI Daunte's agent is a bit of a flake

I bet many in Packer organization enjoyed watching stupid Fumblepepper:

-On his knees begging, groveling, and sobbing for a job.

-licking their boots and kissing their rings.

-being videotaped saying how much he always has loved and adored the Green Bay Packers.

-emphatic tearful denials; insisting that he no longer is infected with that awful evil purple slime.

Then I'm sure they enjoyed kicking his behind out the door and telling him if he isn't off the property in 3 minutes they are calling the Sheriff. Having security guards with shotguns escort him out.

Then laughing at the tape of him groveling again.

I'm sure it was enjoyed thoroughly!!

Culpepper would be the first Green Bay Packer i would hate and boo at the same time. I hate that stupid celebration he does "the roll". The guy might be a descent guy in real life, i dunno, i dont care. I know we are short on options for quaterback, but i would rather have the non canadian league football player Bollinger than Culpepper anyday. Culpepper IMO is a horrid quarterback that is and should be practice squad material only and road his career off of jump balls by Moss.

Rodgers also does not need any kind of tutor, he has been sitting behind our one of a kind quarterback for ever. The only thing we need is insurance incase Rodgers ends up being injury prone which i could see happening. That insurance is not a injury prone, over paid, talentless man in a qb uniform.

BOOOOOO Culpecker! We are supposed to give our washed up to the Queens, not vise versa.

TT is looking for someone who knows the game. Dante knows the game. I would be content with him.
Yes,.....he knows the game. He has seen it played MANY times.
But if i ever have to see him do that "***** cake" "roll it" move while in a Packer uniform, i'm going to shoot myself.

You are missing the point. Culpepper is NOT a backup worthy QB.

The quality of Minnesota's QB corp is moot. It has nothing to do with the quality of Green Bay's. My point is that if you bring in Fumblepepper, it will definately be an example of "subtraction by addition".

Culpepper is a head case. He is convinced that he is the greatest to ever play the game, he acts (poorly) as his own agent, he causes strife in the locker room, he doesn't listen to his coaches, he expects to be treated like a king...

If he backed up Aaron Rodgers, he would constantly try and undermine him for the starting position. It would be a bad situation.

No smack talking there, just some simple observations from someone who put up with culpepper's antics for a long, long time... But hey, if you want him on your team, more power to you. Believe me, If Culpepper ever wears green adn gold the last thing I would be is jealous! ;)

Sure he is.

And he would know his place in the organization too. How do I know this? Because they told Randy Moss his place before they even began negotiating. If Culpepper DID sign(which he won't), he'll know his role, and that's simulating opposing QBs styles during weekly practices.

Well, as long as Green Bay is planing on facing teams with QBs who fumble nearly once per game, can no longer run, and can't read defenses... then he would be a great pick up. ;D

Nodak - It appears my fellow Packer fans aren't taking your warning seriously.

I have always taken morale seriously, and think it's one of the most important (and definitely most underrated) aspect of the game. The last thing we need is a locker room cancer and/or head case. That's why I'm sure TT & MM won't pick him up, regardless of his backup potential.

Morale won the Giants a Super Bowl against a vastly superior (on paper) team. We were a better team on paper and they beat us. Why? Like I just said - morale.

We don't need someone to bring us negative morale. That would be bad, very bad.

Thank you for your warning. I'm confident our management will do the right thing, shake his hand, and tell him "no thanks, but best of luck."
