It seems like in just about every game the Pack is doing one trick play.
A faked field goal in for a TD.
An onside kick when it's not needed.
Has there been a faked punt yet?

So have any other teams done as much up to this point in the season?
In any case, I think it's great.
I hope that Mike keeps on doing it and taking those risks.
    They pay off.

Yeah there was a fake punt, direct snap to Kuhn who ran it for a 1st down. The announcers actually called it just before the play happened. I think it was the saints or colts game but I could be wrong.

the onside kicks are nothing new for McCarthy. Last year we had 2 or 3 surprise onside kicks and the 2010 season we had a couple. We have to give credit to Crosby. We overlook his ability on the kicking team.

I noticed this as well. The Packers obviously aren't know for running trick plays. I wonder what brought this on and why all of a sudden we are seeing them with somewhat regularity. We need to be careful because other teams are going to start to figure it out and we're eventually going to get burned.

Guy on WSSP has a theory that it is a way MM was manufacturing extra downs because the normal offense couldnt get 1st downs

Trick plays are a true double edged sword, and are usually linked to desperation. I believe the onside during the Rams game was needed, just as it was needed in the Patriots game. We came there to show them that we want to dominate the game.

Personally thinking that the Patriots game was one of the best fought Packers game in recent memory. Though our ST did great on that play, there was another play that well, we'll remember our ST was also our biggest weaknesses that year.

The fake field goal, was Packer/Bear tradition, between the two teams it takes everything a team has to beat the other. With this, I believe the Packers have one of the best ST units in the league, and I really hope one day our o-line could cause the same amount of blocking as the ST-Line did for that touchdown.

And since our offense is fairly predictable, adding in the trick plays makes it harder for opposing teams to plan for.

Yeah, that was a wake up play...a pivotal play in the loss to NE that put us behind the 8 ball. Special teams were dreadful all of 2010 up through that point. Special teams have improved markedly ever since (excepting the current Crosby slump).
