Having already acquired Brett Favre in a trade two months earlier, Ron Wolf made his next bold move in his first NFL draft with the Packers by selecting cornerback Terrell Buckley over Troy Vincent in 1992. Buckley, the fifth overall pick, was an unmitigated bust for the Packers. While he never fulfilled the team's expectations, other draft picks such as Robert Brooks, Edgar Bennett and Mark Chmura, went on to big things in Green Bay.
