This should explain it. From Wikipedia:

As a Falcon, he made franchise history by kicking the game-winning field goal in overtime in the 1998 NFC Championship Game to beat the Minnesota Vikings and send the team to its first-ever Super Bowl appearance.

So....... Had he missed the FG, how many SB losses would that have set the Vikes up for??

If you lose by a fg then you don´t deserve to get to SB, Vikings should have made a TD before that and end the game, but vikings don´t win when they are under pressure. THats explains the 4 SB losses

Still 4 and one victory. I remember how relieved Denver was when we lost that game.

I don't think you know very much bozz. You don't even know the name of the kicker that missed that field goal.

Ahhh and here I thought we were talking about Gary.. :rotflmao:

Jan. 17, 1999: NFC Championship Game: With the Vikings leading 27-20, Gary Anderson misses a 37-yard field-goal attempt with 6:07 remaining against Atlanta-- his first miss of the season. The Falcons go on to score the tying touchdown and beat the Vikings 30-27 in overtime.

I think all kickers playing for the Queens should be named Anderson and those kicking in big games against them

Ya Gary (Anderson)-Minnesota- never missed a kick all season, then he blew a 37 yarder. (He was on my **** list for that one too.)

Morten (Andersen)-Atlanta- scored the winning Field Goal, hence the rant.

And on that note, all kickers for the Fudge Packers should be as good as Ryan Longwell.

Sådan bitterhet från Vikingen fläktar, gissar jag 4 förluster i den stora leken gör det till hopp och drömmar. :whippin:

Now.....think about this. There was 6 minutes left! If the Viking D would have done their job and STOPPED the Falcons, Anderson's miss wouldn't be a big deal. If it was a missed last second kick for a win, THEN i would hang it on him. The whole DEFENSE is what you should be ticked off at!

Hey.......didn't you make fun of us for our "fond memories???"
Am i missing something, or is that "one victory" the trip to "Fantasy Island" you yearly take to see a Viking Super Bowl win???

I was more upset at the offensive coordinator, Billick. We should have went in to half up 20-7 with all the momentum, but suddenly it is 20-14 and they have the big Mo

I would have fired Denny Green as soon as that game got over. There is no excuse for a team to come out and perform that poorly.

Did you bring up the Twins and our 2 World Series Championships in the past 20 years? I was fortunate enough to go to game 1 of the 87 series.

I do recall Harvey's Wallbangers in 1982. I was rooting for the Brewers to beat the Cardinals that year. I do believe that was the only time the Brew Crew made the series.

Yeah, there is a story about the 87' series, that is the year I got in a serious accident and basically can't remember 2 weeks of my life. Kirby Puckett was a favorite, anyway the first thing I remember after "comming to" was the Twins in the series. My Godmother lives in Minnesota, so she got Kirby to sign a shirt for me. I could pass for a Twins fan for sure, but never the Queens

Wow, the reason I got to go to the game was because I was in a serious accident. I was injured in Italy on 9-5-87. Was released from the hospital in Germany on 10-13-87 and made it home just in time for game one of the World Series.
