if MM wants to keep his job he's got a lot of work ahead of him... Bellichick has been out coaching everyone and MM hasn't. He needs to pull it all out in this game and try and prove he is worth something.

All I want for my birthday is to beat the Pats!

    My birthday is the 19th.

As for trash talking, lol.. I don't think any Packers fans will be talking any trash this week knowing there's a good chance Flynn will be starting.

I grant that it could be a trap game if the Pats expect Flynn to play. The Pats are coming off two huge games. The Jets lost yesterday, so the Pats are now two games ahead, so less motivation. OTOH, BB doesn't rest his starters, he never goes into a game thinking it is OK to lose, he pushes every game no matter how insignificant.

The last two weeks, the Pats' opponents did a lot of trash talk. The Jets were really over the top, Ryan saying that he was going to NE to 'kick Belichick's ***'. Packers are more classy than that, so that's another way to go under the radar don't give the Pats locker room material. I have to admit I respect the Packers more than any team in the NFL I think, it's a great organization. My buddy at work is a big cheesehead went to the Cowboys game a few weeks ago to see you kill the Cowboys.

I hope Rodgers plays. If so it should be a great game. Hopefully zero injuries.

This is what I'm hoping for, in the least. I want to see our team go out there and fight hard, and try their best against one of the NFL's best. I don't want to watch any more of this half-assed offense. I just don't want to see a blow out, because if I know our team, they'll put their heart and soul into this one.

I just don't see the Pats playing with that kind of heart in this game simply because it means nothing for their season. Sure, they'll come out and play hard, but I wouldn't think they have the emotion that we should have. For that reason, I think we can pull this one out.

Go ahead and underestimate Matt Flynn. Our backup QB was underestimated by about every team in the league in 1992 when we had "The Majik" man as our starter. Majik went down and everyone said; "Well, there goes your season." Need I mention who the crumby backup was? Always beware of the diamond in the rough.

I want Rodgers to play not only because he gives us the best chance to win, but also he and Brady are good friends, so it will be on another level of competition. Not like the Brett Favre saga, more of that friendly competition that pushes people to do their best. Im expecting this to be a good game between two elite's (hard to say that after yesterday, but I'll do it anyway!) Plus, it will be a good preview of the Pats Vs Pack rematch in Dallas :D

how about us knocking out kolb? It almost cost us the game. Their back up qb pretty much just ran out of time to beat us.

I would think it may be even more of a trap game if Flynn gets the start because you are dealing with an virtually unknown quantity. Flynn is unpredictable, at least with Aaron there is an abundance of film to study and you pretty much know what you are going to get. You don't know his play style and it's hard for a D to study for him. Even the Packers themselves don't really know all of Flynn's tricks yet. He could pull a Kitna or Vick on your tails. Or he could bomb, that's the problem, it's facing the unknown. In that respect, if I were the Pats, I'd be praying for Rodgers. If I were MM, I'd wait until the very last minute to announce who is going to get the start to keep the Pats on edge.

Pat fans know about unknown backups better than anyone.

I hope Rodgers plays, cause then it will be a great game. Pack's D is underestimated.

Speaking as a Pats fans, let me say a few things related to the posts on this thread.

First, I haven't heard anyone in New England call this Pats team the best in THEIR history, let alone NFL history. Pats fans are thrilled that in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year the team is playing so well. I feel lucky they're so good, and I think most Pats fans feel exactly that, not cocky. Perhaps some idiots on the Pats forums are spitting off about all-time greatness, but definitely not the vast majority of fans.

Second, Pats fans are smart enough -- most, anyway -- to have plenty of respect for the Pack. This is NO trap game; the Pack is too good for it to be such a game. Even without Rodgers, I have some concerns about the game, and with him, I have plenty. You have a very good team, and can certainly beat the Pats.

Third, some posters are unfortunately relying on looking at the past (your own and our loss in the SB to the Jets) in order to make themselves feel better. Live in the present. Sure, the Pack has a better history than the Pats -- although given the Pats' success in the last decade, the overall success of the two franchises is not real great now. In any case, I respect the Pack and its fans, as do all NE fans. You guys seem very knowledgeable and hugely loyal.

Finally, it isn't the Pats' fault that the national media thinks the team is the best in the league. Let's be honest: hate them if you want for their success, but they have done it the right way, the players don't act like jerks, the QB never fails to give credit to other teams, the owner is the most respected owner in the game, and the coach may be a sourpuss but he is very, very good at what counts -- winning, not personality, which I leave for Rex Ryan.

Let's talk about both teams' performance and prospects, not the silly stuff.

Yep, it's a shocking season. Rookie secondary, Moss gone, but we are somehow pulling out some great wins. It's a testament to Brady, first and foremost, how well he can do with non-marquis names. Second, Belichick is working his butt off working on the defensive schemes with this inexperienced secondary.

I agree also that there is no way BB takes a win for granted against the Packers. The Packers are a great organization, with a consistently great team, that you can never count on beating. Their defense will give Brady a few close looks at the ground in Foxboro. Just hopefully no injuries, and nobody tripping anyone from the sidelines. :kawaii:

You guys played a SB against the Jets? Never knew that was possible.

The right way involves cheating? you guys are no different from the jets.

WTF are you saying? I believe both franchises have top 5 or 6 winning % in the past decade.

The fact remains the last time we played the pats we caught you cheating. Hopefully that wont happen this time.

I have to admit I'm a tad jealous of the success of the Patriots the last decade or so. Some people hate Brady, but I've always really respected the guy's play. His attitude can come across a little off putting, but when you win SBs, you can be that way in my book. Same with Belichick. He's a sourpuss, but apparently he can put a team together and coach it. And in the era of free agency, that's amazing! I remember a guy in GB by the name of Lombardi who they used to call a sourpuss.

The cheating scandals have kind of tarnished the Patriots reputation though. No doubt about that.

Does Belichick have any brothers that are looking for a NFL head coaching position? LOL

    Damn right you should.
Better than the Patsies because the Pack has never cheated to win, unlike what the Patsies are doing now.

When the Patsies become a losing team, then and only then, will I think they aren't cheating.

Our O-line doesn't match up with anyone.

But Rodgers is a good match for Brady.

Our receivers are better than theirs.

Our D-backs can match up with their receivers and our front can stop their RBs.

Big problem for us is our O-line being seriously overmatched. Again.

But if Rodgers plays, this could be a pretty good game.

The Pat's will take no prisoner's,they don't care who they play they play to win, they have the right attitude and that's what the pack has to have don't think of who it is you are playing play to win,we have the talent and know they can win,yes we lost games we should have won and maybe that was the problem, play to win every Sunday know matter who you are playing.I think we can win with Flynn A-rod at q.b as long as the front holds up that is key.We have good talent even Brady makes mistakes but manages to win look at Detroit they weren't playing well and realized they better play or lose the game he did have a couple interceptions,so I give them that they will play to win they don't care who it is.

Brady certainly cheated physics last Sunday with his perfectly thrown bombs in 50 MPH winds and a blizzard.

Aside from that, you need to stop living in 2007 and overstating what actually happened.

In the past? You guys are still cheating and taping. Says alot when former pats employees are busted for taping. I was sitting next to one of Robert Krafts friends at the pats Giants SB, and laughed so hard when his friend had to go to the pats after game party. Wow that must have been a buzz kill. 17-1! Cheating and still couldn't win.
