on a serious note, this is my first birthday without my dad. lots of tears today & some smiles too remembering how every year my dad would say, "what, you're 35 this year or no - you're 36, right?" (he was always a year off) then he'd smile one of his big smiles, give me a kiss, & a big hug. i miss him.
