I think regular season would be the way to go. Nothing like the atmosphere around Lambeau on gameday even if you're not going to the game. Plenty of bars within walking distance of the stadium for those without tickets. If you did decide to do a regular season game, Oct. 4 vs. Atlanta would be a good choice as ticket prices are a bit lower for that game compared with some others.

Has anyone been to training camp? How crowded does it get, especially on weekends?

"mx' Each of 26 practice sessions of Packer training camp draws from 3,000 to 6,000 Packer fans to watch the Packers practice.

Packer Training camp draws est. 115,000 Packer fans to Green Bay each summer to view the Packer training camp practices. This brings an est. $60M into the Green Bay's economy during Training camp.

Lambeau Field and the Atrium is a busy place during Packer training camp each year. Training camp sessions during the weekend are very busy.

Lambeau Field will be sold out for Family Nite.

PWT36 located in DePere, Wi. just 5 miles from Lambeau Field.

Re: 1st Annual "PackerForum" Tailgating Party

I've gone to training camp many times, but almost always during the week when crowds are smaller.
Weekends are busy of course, but no where close to how busy it is if you try to be there on a game day.

    1st Annual "PackerForum" Tailgating Party

OK... Training Camp schedule is out... Aug. 2 and Aug. 9 are the only Saturdays with an open practice and each of those days has a single 2:00 PM practice. I think we're waiting to hear more of what the additional fan activities will be but I would guess a PF Tailgate will be on one of those days.

Perfect for Cheesey, he can watch Saturday morning cartoons and still get up to Green Bay in time for practice. :D

    1. Every game was sold out last year. Yes, it's a technicality, but it's true.

    2. You're wrong. Last year, various tailgates included people from: ND, SD, NE, IA, WI, VA, MD, CA & the UK. This fall, we're going to be joined by some of our other foreign members from Denmark, as well.

Re: 1st Annual "PackerForum" Tailgating Party

You don't get it, do you?

Try buying a Packer ticket for half of face value they way you can Viking tickets. That's why it's difficult to have a group outing.

Also, the Vikings probably have the least amount of fans outside of their location. That's why Viking fans show up in Packer forums; they have no one to talk to.

    1st Annual "PackerForum" Tailgating Party

How does Aug 24th work for all?

It is a weekend day, close to the regular season so the roster should be getting close to set and the it is early enough in the day to watch practice... sit back an BS and eat... and still give everyone enough time to return home in the afternoon if they have to travel a distance, such as myself.

Start the gathering around say 10, 10:30 and get the grills going so people can get a bite to eat and what not.

Would this work for most? Additionally if it has a pretty good turn out.. maybe we do it again a couple of times during the season?

    Opinions?

You can't make everyone happy all the time so pick a day and don't worry about who doesn't like it.

With that said, Aug. 2 is actually a good day for me. :)
