I dunno....
I'm not as knowledgable of NFL football as most others are.
I just like to watch the game which does bring up questions for me about it.
And maybe there are others who also have curiosities too. If so, feel free to post any questions here.
And I think that general questions could either have it's own thread, such as this one, or a section created on the forum.
To kick things off here's my questions:
In regards to players: Does every single player on a team play at some point during the season or are there some who will sit on the bench throughout the season and maybe even for their whole carrers?
When players are not injured, when do 2nd and 3rd string players go out there? Could they be playing within the first 4 downs on an opening drive?

Reserves play when needed - so if not for injury, they play to give starters a blow or in certain sub packages that require different personnel from the base. Sure, a reserve could see action as early as the 2nd play and not be considered a "starter."

What do you mean by "blow?" A rest?

Lots of guys who don't see snaps on offens are defense see a lot of action on special teams.
I have a question. Why is Jarrett Bush on a 53 man roster in this league? Follow up question. Why does he see a significant amount of action!?
