Rep Power: 8 | | The Who SB Halftime Show Just wondering if we have any other fans of The Who and what you think about them being the band playing at halftime of The Game.
Yes I'm a fan of The Who. But only of the original lineup which included Keith Moon and John Entwistle, who have passed on to the great gig in the sky.
I don't have any recordings after they replaced Moon and I probably never will.
To me, they just aren't the same without Moon who was THE rock drummer. The guy was amazing. Ever see concert footage of him? It's like he played every drum and cymbal at the same time.
Anyway, I'll probably tune in just to see what their like but as for who they are now, I can take or leave them. I would have liked to have seen them in the 60's-70's.
What do you think?

Rep Power: 35 | | I like a lot of music from the 60's. But the Who is not one of them. Seems like a pretty boring Half Time show to me.
I thought Last years show was lame too.
Sure is nice of MTV to screw us all over so bad with Boob-Gate that we will never see another exciting halftime show again.
Obviously this is my opinion. I doubt many people my age share it. |

That might explain why we have bands with all or mostly men now.

Rep Power: 8 | | I'm surprised that (some of) you people haven't "caught on" to this yet ...
*chuckles*
The main reason "The Who" is playing at the Super Bowl is because of the anticipation that Favre and Minnesota will be one of the participants ... After all "the Old Man" needs to listen to some music he can remember from when he was young ...

Rep Power: 17 | | I get more and more disappointed with the lineup for the half time show every year. It used to be entertaining to see what kind of madness was gonna come out of it. Now it's just old and boring. The NFL needs to learn that in order to expand it's brand, it needs to cater to a younger crowd. The Who, while an awesome rock band back in the day, aren't on many young people's play list these days.
I can think of 5 bands right off the top of my head who are A) still relevant to today and B) would put on an awesome half time performance and are main stream enough to cater to a decent crowd:
Korn
Foo Fighters
Metallica
Green Day
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Of course I have some personal favorites as well, but most don't fit the "Huge band" mantra like the above 5 do. |

Rep Power: 54 | | Would happily take Korn, Green Day or RHCP, not a huge fan of the other 2 LOL but thats a good list
Next superbowl Sparta can you sort out the half time show?
