I think everyone agrees that this is a position of major need, and there is a sizable group of quality edge rushers in this draft group. So... Who do you like?
Nick Bosa
Josh Allen
Clelin Ferrell
Jachai Polite
Montez Sweat

I would sit Rodgers, and Davante too. This late in the season, an injury like an ACL will screw next year too. There is close to zero reason to risk that right now.
McCarthy may have tried to evolve this offense on the run in the middle of the season, but that's far too late. These concepts should have been developed and practiced like crazy over the off-season (maybe a few off-seasons ago; the offense has looked stagnant for years except for incredible...
My guess is the offense is broken from the off-season prep. McCarthy and Rodgers and co. can scheme up 10-20 creative/dynamic plays every game but then they go back to the regular offense and that offense sucks. It's a complete failure on McCarthy's part.
This is a problem I have with this offensive scheme, where so many routes seem to be "option" routes. For one, I think the receivers have to run them a bit slower. And two, if a defender knows this, they can essentially dictate the route by how they play it. I'm no expert so I could be wrong...
This pick reminds me of a New England pick, taking a guy for a very specific role. I hope it pans out. He needs some time. I wonder who will be our dime LB until he's ready. I sure hope they let JJ focus on safety and don't switch him to LB on some plays.
Yeah I watched it. In his defense it was a September game and they switched him to ILB in 2017 so he had a max of a few games there. I'm more optimistic than I was at first. It'll take him a year or two.
