2011 passing stats were off-the-charts because of poor tackling league-wide. We don't know yet if teaching good tackling has been outlawed by the CBA or if coaches will find a way to correct it this year... And if they do fix tackling, will it be with vanilla defenses that elite QBs can slice...
The Packers and Giants almost certainly have a rematch set for kickoff Thursday. The Giants fans should take some time off and come back before then.
It doesn't matter if Eli is a top 5 QB or whatever it takes to be "elite" from a modern perspective; two Super bowl wins makes him elite from a...
Guy I expect the big jump from: Cobb
Guy that a big jump from would be awesome but not essential: Starks
Guy that will make me breath a sigh of relief if he makes a big jump: Sherrod, Neal
Guy that needs to jump back up to where he used to be and still should be: Matthews
Guy I hope we don't...
The Packers gave up the most passing yards in the league and Woodson is the leader of the secondary. He gambled and got burned a lot. He played better last year when he only had 2 INTs. Obviously I love Woodson, but he did not deserve to make the All-Pro team and whoever voted for him for DPOY...
Hahaha. This is satire, right?
You cannot impact the result of a Packer game in anywhere close to the same manner you impact your own career or life. There is no analogy here. In fact, a lot of folks (believe it or not) watch sports precisely BECAUSE it is something they cannot impact the...
I would love to see a round robin replace the first round of the playoffs in the other three major US sports though. The early rounds are boring and reduce the importance of the regular season when the first place team gets such a minimal advantage over the eighth place team in the first round...
I would have liked a system where the Packers and 49ers could have played this year.
We all know the system isn't designed to produce an "accurate" result or find the "best" team. It's designed to be:
1. Fair for everyone in week 1 &
2. Fun
That's it.
If we want it to be super fair, then...
Every guy I know totally loves it when his wife or girlfriend mocks and berates him.
Like this one guy I know was up for a big promotion, and was almost a lock to get it. Then he totally blew it and took himself out of the running. He went home and told his wife, and she tore into him for...
Driver situation.
Finley situation.
Woodson situation.
The 28th draft pick.
What coaches might leave.
Who could replace the coaches that might leave.
How the 9ers can beat the Giants.
How the Ravens can beat the Pats.
Training camp changes due to CBA.
Hugh Jackman.
Anything, anything, anything...
Wow. I was coming here hoping and expecting to see classy Packer fans upset at the loss, but keeping perspective, and certainly keeping their dignity. I guess not. I'd rather move across the river and wear purple than be associated with some of the folks in this thread.
There doesn't have to...
By my count, there are 24 QBs with two or more championships, of which 15 won exactly two. So two championships for either Rodgers or Brees would be pretty special.
The last two teams to go 15-1 didn't even make the Super bowl. If the Packers win the Super bowl, 15-1 will be extremely special, but if they lose, it won't much matter that they went 15-1 instead of 14-2 or 13-3.
I don't know, maybe they have faith in their own abilities and think they can succeed at other places. And maybe they want to be promoted to higher positions that won't be available in the place they're at. This is just something that comes with winning. It's hard to be bitter considering Ron...
