Ben Ijalana is a guy a lot of teams are looking at. He played at a small football school so he's one of those guys who could be a shocker pick in the 12-20 pick range, or slide into the 32-40 range. Tons of teams have visited him and watched his workouts but nobody can accurately project him...
I guess Mallett was much worse at Michigan, and earlier at Arkansas, but coach Petrino put him through a public speaking class and schooled him...Kind of weird that Mallett would have 'street' to him, since both his parents are school teachers....the guy's probably just a gigantic *********.
As good a pass-rusher Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila was for us, it ends there for me. The guy's a typical Nigerian religion nut, and conservative, I wouldn't mind if he put politics on hold.
There are definitely some glaring negatives in this draft, the obvious lack of talent, the obvious lack of QB talent specifically, and the fact that players can't be traded. But for someone like me who loves the draft, i'll watch, I took off work for it.
The most interesting thing for me is...
I've heard a couple of times from 'TV news breakers' via 'NFL decision-makers' that there are going to be a lot of 'surprise' picks, especially late in the first round because decision makers are more apt to go with 'their guys' this year because the draft is pretty thin with 1st round talent...
Cullen Jenkins isn't a Packers HOF'er, he's aging and will probably just get hurt anyway. I appreciate everything Cullen's done, coming from nowhere, but the Bears can have him, just shows how desperate they are and their complete and utter inability to develop their own players.
Over the...
Jay Cutler did play on the injury for a drive as I remember, but during the half the doctors came in and held him out. People react differently, people saw him just sitting there with a look on his face and made some stupid judgment that he doesn't care, whatever...Some people are very...
This makes sense. Draft a QB who when the heat's on can't hit a moving target. It's just like drafting a 6'3" WR who runs a 4.4 and can't catch the ball, makes no sense. Jake Locker didn't have a lot on his side in Washington, he didn't have a USC/Alabama roster to help him, but he didn't show...
Agreed, the Vikings should definitely go after a wash-out QB. This is what some teams get sucked into. A 'right-now' team, aging players, no QB...fillers get you nowhere, the Vikings have to make a big move or they'll be stuck in a rut going forward....Donovan McNabb? As a Packers fan, I would...
A lot of 'mockers' had Bowers going 1st before they figured out he was damaged goods. Kind of sad to see a 20 year old kid being treated like his career is already over. Considering he comes from Clemson, only played well for one year, and has a old man's knee, he has a lot going against him, I...
The sad thing is, people think Caleb Hanie is a legitimate 'future' QB now because he 'played well' in one game where nobody prepared for him...Mike Martz wouldn't have drafted Danny Dud last year had he liked Hanie, and likely wouldn't be going door-to-door looking for QB's now if he liked...
Of course they're going to say this when he's potential trade-bait after the lockout ends. They aren't going to publicly announce they're worried...they want to play it cool if they choose to send him out of Minneapolis. Whoever wants him is going to have to medically clear him anyway, but still...
