Re: The official refs fricken suck thread
The number of holding calls on the GB OL were ridiculous, especially considering the high number of no calls on Minny's OL for holding. It also seemed that almost everytime Minny needed a first down, there was a call for defensive holding.
All that...
Brohm looked like who he is -- a rookie QB getting his first live game action in a complex offense. It appeared to me that he was spending a lot of time looking around/thinking about what to do. This made him appear hesitant, indecisive and late with the throw.
Rodgers looked rather poor his...
Releasing Favre is the dumbest suggest to date. Of course Favre wants to be released to choose where he'd like to play. The NFL is both a business and a game. It's not good for the GB Packers, gamewise or business-wise, to just let Favre go.
Those who think that GB 'owes' it to Favre are...
Grant is precisely the player who could get screwed by the owners opting out of the CBA. Under this 2010 will be the uncapped year and the rules for that year state that players will need 6 years of experience prior to becoming a FA. Therefore, Grant could be stuck as an exclusive rights...
What the hell? Picking Favre is part of keeping the curse going. Each of those players followed up the cover with a terrible year. Favre is about to have his worst statistical year since he was drafted -- nothing.
There's no question the curse lives on! Retirement is the ultimate proof.
Wynn did a great job while on the field. His obvious problem was staying on the field. He's not someone you can count on yet. Hopefully getting put onto IR, when he wasn't going to miss more than a game or two, sent a message.
Forget the draft stats, which don't have much meaning. So what...
or by getting another freak injury during practice that keeps him out for weeks.
Rodgers is good and should develop into a solid starter for GB, but considering how quickly he went down after a little playing time twice now, it's best to have a good backup.
That being said, Brohm has a...
The right player for one team is not necessarily the right player for another.
A good OG for many teams might not be a good fit in the ZBS. A great CB or safety may be good for cover 2, but struggle in bump and run. A RB may be good with a lead blocker in a power blocking scheme, but...
People like to read too much into things. TT didn't pickup a veteran QB to backup Rodgers like he planned. Favre offhand mentioned that he'd consider coming out of retirement if GB needed him. Then TT goes and drafts a great QB prospect in Brohm to backup Rodgers.
So then the controversy...
Well I was attempting to at least be accurate in the RB lining up behind the QB.
I suppose that could be spun to:
Beaver's lining up for the **********.
I like to look things over after the draft. From that perspective, it's interesting to see so many offensive picks this year. 2 QBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE and 2 OL vs 1 CB and 1 DE. In past drafts, TT has had a many defensive picks to build up on that side and it's paid off in us having a strong, young...
I think you're right about his first couple of drafts, but mostly because the depth on the team sucked at that point. He had no choice but to address major needs, especially since he wasn't using FA to fill most of those needs.
As for the Harrell pick though, I still don't see him as a 1st...
sorry, this just isn't going to happen.
Arod is just so much easier and besides -- This Isn't Baseball!!! Baseball sucks! This is about as close as I like to come to discussing the paint-drying, grass-watching, mind-numbing, kiddy ball game of baseball.
